note: life insurance companies do not give you $$ if you commit suicide. only if you die by natural cause/accidents.
Mine does, I can shoot myself in the face tomorrow and my family will be paid in full. The only stipulation was I couldn't off myself in the first two years of the policy. I highly recommend manulife.

Suicide clause is the life insurance policy wording, which specifies that the proceeds of the policy will not be paid if the insured takes his or her own life within a specified period of time (usually two years) after the policy is issued.
The wording is a bit more clear on this one. Like I said, after having a policy two years they'll pay even after a suicide.
Will the insurance company pay the death benefit if the insured dies by suicide?
A life insurance policy usually has a suicide exclusion provision, which governs the payment of policy benefits if the insured dies as a result of suicide. The provision period, usually one or two years, counts from the policy effective date. If the suicide is committed beyond the provision period, the insurance company is required to pay the death benefit.
