Hey Guys!
So its that time of the year again, our friends and family event. Most of you have already heard of or been to one of these events in the past. It has now become somewhat of a signiture event.

Those of you deal seekers know that this is probably the best sale that sportchek has all year. The deal is simple, 25% off all regular priced items, 10% off sale. NO EXCLUSIONS!!!!!!!!!!

...Normally we have great deals that excludes key items or brands such as Under Armour, North face etc, this sale includes ALL those things and much much more.

Come join us at the Richmond Sportchek/Atmosphere/Nevada Bob's Golf and Hockey Expert for this amazing event. Enjoy 25% off brand new 2011 Skis and Snowboards, as well as brand new 2011 Arcteryx and North Face jackets. Come check out our golf department for crazy deals on high end golf equipment and golf balls which NEVER goes on sale!. Some of these deals are even better than employee discount!

As some of you may know, our store is in the process of getting a Hockey Experts, we already have all the product, so that means with this coupon you can enjoy 25% off premium hockey items that NEVER go one sale. Such as One100, X60 protective, skates and sticks etc. Get 25% of S19 sticks, Warrior Dolomites, and much much more!

This event is truely too good to miss, so print off the coupon and come see me at Richmond Sportchek during this fantastic two day event!

while this might be true for certain clothing items which the mark up is high, our discount works on a cost+10% formula, and a lot of the items in store that never goes on sale usually has a lower mark up.
High end golf balls, such as the Pro V1, has almost zero mark up, and at 25% Off it is a lot better than our employee discount, the same applies to many other high end golf equipment which the mark up is not very high.

The other problem is, our discount is not limitless, all employee has a max limit as to how much they can spend, so try asking your buddy to help employee discount a $700 pair of hockey skates, or a $800 set of snowboard gear, few will help you out. 25% is actually a better deal than what we offer on boxing day (20% off).

Again, if you shop smart, and buy the items that never goes on sale, 25% off is very generous discount. If you shop previous season's gear, an addition 10% off the already marked down price is pretty aggressive as well. (All prior season ski/snowboard gear is currently minimum 30% off, so an addition 10% will be better than employee discount in most cases)

Speaking of Hockey Experts, did/will this store be getting a Flat Bottom V Skate Sharpening machine?

JSALES 10-03-2010 09:55 PM

Good time to pick up some UA gear if you're not going to the states anytime soon.

You do know things in stores still had 12% tax before HST, right?
unless you were planning to buy food at Sportchek

stylez2k4 10-05-2010 04:12 PM

I too work at sportcheck, and the majority of things (especially shoes) are around 50% mark up with the 10 percent added.

A lot of items are marked up very little (Mostly clearance stuff ending in $0.88), a lot are marked up more than 50%. On average though, if you buy a few things, it'll end up to be a 50% discount with tax.

However I will say the employee discount is really small, and it really does run out quick, especially when friend's and family start using it.

Richmond store doesnt not carry it yet. Hockey Expert is still under renovation and not all product has arrived.

Pacfic Center is probably the only store that would potentially have it, but its probably in very limited numbers. Better to call ahead first

taylor192 10-05-2010 09:52 PM

Dammit I just bought skates at Cyclone Taylor, could've saved $75 + tax.

Hardgoods Items is where the mark up is low, especially in Hockey Expert and Nevada Bob's Golf.

Which store do you work at?
