So the monopoly board game exec's decide it's time to liquidate the batches of play money they produced back in '95, since demand is fairly elastic at 0 units per year. Who the fucks going to liquidate monopoly money? no one, not even XS cargo, and those guys liquidate everything, even themselves. in a last ditch effort to minimize their losses, they strike a deal with mcdonalds, a promotional partner in the past, to accept their play money, in hopes people would go to toy stores and buy play money the next day, essentially liquidating some of the execs financial burden.
