BBM on iphone?

is it possible?

whatsapp is preety gay imo

Ikkaku 10-06-2010 11:56 PM

You mean have iphones work with BBM? Unlikely, unless they figure out a way to get into the RIM network, which they would also need to be able to create accounts on the RIM network.

If you're talking about a program similar to BBM but for communication between apple devices, whatsapp seems to be the biggest, maybe !ping but I heard it's also garbage.

Hondaracer 10-07-2010 07:03 AM

Ive heard you can get a pin on the rim website so the actual process of getting a pin is possible, the thing is BB would have to release a BBM app for iPhone which seems basically impossible

No chance

Apple would never allow competitions messager system on their phones

!ping/pingchat is so retarded, I get too many msgs from people saying like, hi or whos this.

Hondaracer 10-07-2010 08:44 AM

I think if rim released BBM for iPhone it would be beneficial for apple because alot of ppl I know would be on an iPhone in a second if it had BBM, I think BB sales would dip if other phones could run BBM

odds are they would never allow cross-platform for that reason alone. Yes, the business oriented people would still stick with BB's because of their connectivity and awesome email implementation, but for all the "recreational" users who are pretty much using BB's for BBM would leave. Of course, there are those faithfuls who love the keyboard too much to leave.

Chances are lawsuits would follow if Apple finds a way to use BBM.

Vansterdam 10-07-2010 09:17 AM

could always be a 3rd party software/developer then ends up finding a solution possibly by creating a new app/software :)

that would be epic.

not gonna lie all i use my bb for is BBM lol everything else is useless.

i do like how my led blinks crazy colors but thats about it lol

iphone4 has wayyyyy faster internet/3g speeds imo

i do get lazy switching using my microsim adapater though

!MiKrofT 10-07-2010 01:19 PM

I doubt this would ever happen. Aren't BBM pins associated to the handset anyways? As well they would need to connect to the the RIM network in order to transmit and receive messages. No 3rd party is ever going to be able to develop something without the help of RIM.

There's cross platform apps that can be installed on either a bb or iphone or other smartphones. This is as close as you can get to a universal client. Probably just easier using MSN, yahoo chat program instead.

tian69 10-09-2010 06:40 PM

BBM ON BLACKBERRY IS THE SHITT .

I've been wanting to ditch blackberry, but the thoughts of leaving BBM change my mind.

aznrsx1979 10-09-2010 08:08 PM

I finally got a BB cause most people I know got BB's. BBM a lot now. Had ping on my Iphone and only had 2 people on it. Was a stupid program for my Iphone 3g.

Group chats are awesome..other than that nothing really

illicitstylz 10-09-2010 10:37 PM

something about bbm encourages you to talk to people and be more social, especially with friends you don't usually chat with. group chats are definitely a plus.

Ikkaku 10-09-2010 10:54 PM

:lol the downfall of people -- requiring a smartphone app to encourage being more sociable

im in the same boat LOL only reason why i use bb is for bbm

and WTF my hangup button on my bb is randomly died yesterday and now i can't hang up on people lol

filth 10-10-2010 12:57 PM

Apple will probably never work with RIM to create a "BBM" for the iPhone, but APPLE (not 3rd parties) should create an app that is similar to the BBM

Kim Jong Un 10-10-2010 01:03 PM

Apple need iChat on the iPhone, what's the point of an app that only work on their desktop/laptop?
