89% of Alberta drivers fail basic written test I wonder how well we in BC would fair. Somehow I think we as a whole wouldn't do so well either. 89% of Alberta drivers fail basic written test in U of C study http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/06102010/...-test-u-c.html Quote:

It's okay, they can just go to Dragon Driving School! |
The scary thing is I've been to Alberta many times and their drivers are way way way better out there then they are here.. |

I don't give a fck how well a person can pass the written test. If you can't drive, you just can't. |

Ive heard the same about Vietnam and whatnot. Taking some truck down a one lane backroad with incoming trucks coming your opposite way in the pouring rain. Drivers in Vancouver just suck in general. People clogging up the passing lanes is the biggest sin here |

I remember going on a tour in China and the tour guide basically recited stuff memorized from a booklet as we viewed various sights. Asians are awesome at memorizing stuff. It's applying the rules to real life situations where they suck at. :p |

Asians are no worse than any other ethnicity in driving skills. I don't see an epidemic in automobile deaths in comparison to Canada. Before some retard says that China has more car accidents than Canada, it also has 30x the population. I have visited both countries, so I know what it's like. |

I guess this as good of a place to post my experience yesterday.. I'm following this L driver yesterday. I could tell this chick must have just got behind the wheel that day. Random hitting of the brakes... Not being able to take a corner smoothly... etc... Well I'm keeping my distance. She turns on her blinker to turn right so I'm getting ready to pass. I dont know what the hell happened but even before she got to the intersection she almost drove off the road to the right. Freaked out.. Swerved to the left almost hitting a car head on... Then she finally got back in her own lane and slowly keeps driving (no turning at the intersection)... She keeps the blinker on for a block or two and then it comes back on. At this point I'm giving her like 20 feet between my car and hers. Blinker is on to turn right and she comes to a stop at the intersection. Then she made a left hand turn after waiting like half a minute with nobody around (and me not wanting to pass cuz I had no clue what she might do).. How fucking stupid is the parent to bring their kid on a somewhat busy road when she obviously should be sticking to parking lots and small side streets for now. I wont say what nationality they were... But it was Surrey.. |
how stupid do you have to be not know how to drive a car basically? First time I got in, it was pretty fucking easy. Brake Gas and Steering wheel. I guess some people have it some dont. |

They just opened a Driver's Service Branch by my house. Now I got these assholes trying to park and crap all up and down my street before/during road tests. |
I rather them suck at the written and be awesome in the practical though. Whereas people here, suck at both. |

People that fail the written test are dumbasses. Most of the questions are common sense. Just have to study the signs and memorize that. |

when you have a power outage at a major intersection, just watch how many people really don't understand how 4 way stops and right of way work |

You guys can keep mocking Alberta. I am from BC, but moved out here... where there is no air care, and no ICBC. Oh, and no HST either. I still laugh at our local radio talking about 'rush hour'. The longest wait I've had out here is 20 minutes in Calgary. Unlike the 3 hours in Vancouver. Bridge traffic is horrible. Either way, with the technology of cars protecting stupid drivers (thousand airbags, billion crumple zones, heavy fat cars), You'll find that people are drifting away from skill. Nobody knows how to countersteer, or how to react differently in different types of weather. Still, I think we should be united as Canadians. ...and make fun of people in Seattle. |
The reason why some Asians suck at driving is because some of them bring their driving habits over here. It doesn't work at all! |
