When there's even a hint of snow the trains begin shut down sequence, emergency generator blow up and everything is in red-alert. Happy El-Nina muther F_!

Back in the day when they had the scratch day pass's I used to use one every month and if I saw the skycops come checking tickets then I would scratch it. I did that for 2 yrs and didn't get caught once.

twitchyzero 10-08-2010 05:04 PM

does anyone know if the buses will be equipped with snow-tires after that snow disaster back in '08?
they were super lucky it only snowed for half a day last year..let's hope they are at least half-prepared

Gnomes 10-08-2010 05:18 PM

The year was 2000. Fresh out of highschool going to bcit for 1st day - orientation. I take the bus to nanaimo skytrain station to catch the #25 but got stranded there. "Wildcat strike". Skytrain not operational. No money to taxi, walked 10 blocks home. Fuck you translink.

- last winter due to snow skytrain/buses were late approx 1 hour total altogether.. finally get on the bus and guess what? fucken gets stuck in the snow AFTER 2 BLOCKS, had to walk my ass 30/40 blocks in the unpaved snow

fuck i hated that day

those long style buses like the 99bline are fucken USELESS uphill during snow

don't know why they even bother

back in university every time the train would mess up it would always b on a day of a midterm or finals...
translink = one of the most unreliable mode of transportation n even worst whenever theres a screw up on the train this msg comes on about how you will be moving shortly unfortunately that slowly means 45mins... i hate that y not just tell us it will be a while so we can immediately look for alternatives.

positives= many nice bus drivers i have encountered lately, makes the day better

So is my Orca Card here yet?

Arash 10-08-2010 06:23 PM

With a country so vast in resources... lumber and minerals, why doesn't the governemnt sell some crown land and setup our own transit system, a nationalized transit system so that we do not have to pay Translink, a privately owned corporation.

We as tax payers paid for all the roads, telephone (internet) companies and translink should be paying us back for using our roads.

I remember last year, someone committed suicide at Stadium Station and all the trains were delayed. Huge line ups at Broadway and this was around rush hour [3:40PM].

I waited literally an hour and a half till I finally could get on a train...

Fuck you Translink!! greedy sobs.

keifun 10-08-2010 08:40 PM

unreliable public transit, and I live Vancouver too. I really feel bad for those that live in Surrey/Delta/Langley etc. and need to take public transit.

It was because of translink that I saved up all my hard earnings for a car.

nack 10-08-2010 08:47 PM

translink adding taxes to "support" itself, really?

cho 10-08-2010 09:20 PM

Back in 08 got off work from sci world
Waited 2 hours at 6pm for a 3/8/19 heading east
Took the 19, didn't stop at my stop and went all the way to metro, stuck on the left turn before the loop for about 15 mins, bus floored it and went free, friends call and ask if I need a ride right when I get off -.-

You probably needed a walk, fat-ass. 10 blocks is nothing.

JSALES 10-08-2010 09:59 PM

i remember the one day i decided to take translink for the first time in a long time, the bus i was on gets in a little car accident. you know how some bus driver's get aggravated and think they're the shit and can squeeze into tight spaces. well yeah, this driver hit a car

TomBox_N 10-08-2010 10:47 PM

I always get bus-sick whenever I haven't taken the bus for a long time.
