| Quick, where to find weird fuse?
anyone know where i can find this specific kind of fuse locally?
here's what it looks like
the markings on the fuse body are:
SEFUSE
SF119E-1
121 *C
10A
JET250V-
it came from a brand new electric cooker that isnt working which i suspect to be this fuse causing problems.
thanks in advance.

It's a thermal fuse, and if the temp goes over 121 degrees, it opens. You should check with a multimeter or some kinda continuity meter first, it should be closed at room temp, otherwise that's not your problem.
If you need a replacedment, you can try one of those electronic stores:
RP electronics www.rpelectronics.com (near Willingdon + Lougheed)
Active www.active123.com (1st + Boundary)
MRO www.mroelectronics.com (1st + Boundary)
Interior Electronics www.interiorelectronics.com (near 1st + Boundary)
Main www.mainelectronics.com (Main St - Vancouver)
Lee's www.leeselectronic.com (Main St - Vancouver)

ok i hope this makes sense
i used a test light for the following:
N to +1 = light up
N to +2 = no light
N to +3 = no light
then what i did was take the wire that goes from +2 to +3 and hook it up to +1 to +3 bypassing the fuse, the unit turns on.
so am i right about the fuse causing the problem?

What a coincidence! I just had to buy one of those for our rice cooker.
Queale Electronics / Interior Electronics on Boundary have some in stock but you'll have to check with them on the specs to see if they have it. They didn't have the temp that I wanted to I went over to MRO near 1st and Boundary and they had it in stock. If neither have it, then try Active Electronics.

Are you guys experimenting on your parent's slow/rice cookers?
Why????
Also, the "quick, where to find weird fuse", is the "quick" because you broke it and you need to fix it our you don't get rice for dinner? |

thus the sound of urgency in the title, but i realized by the time it was posted, it's already 7ish on a friday night, and probably most shops are closed or too far.

So you don't have a multimeter. Your test does the job.
Yeah, if +1 and +2 don't act the same, it sounds like that fuse is the culprit. I'm assuming you didn't test everything above 121 degrees.
So off you go to buy a $3 fuse. Do you have the pliers/crimpers/whathaveyou to connect the replacement fuse to those convenient existing wires? If not, maybe bring them along and ask them to help you out.
