He means the large touchpad makes it a nicer experience to use a laptop. The touchpads on PC laptops are very clunky to use in comparison. It takes a day or so to get used to it, but once you do, it's really quite amazing. It obviously will not replace a mouse or tablet for gaming or graphics work, but for everyday internet, e-mail & productivity software work you generally will not miss having a mouse.

Hmm I guess it depends on the user. I'm fine with both Mac and PC touchpads as I've used both extensively. Both have multi touch and multi finger etc. Main difference being the size I guess which doesn't affect me much.

personally, i always carried a small portable mouse with me when i had my laptop. i found it doesn't matter how good the touchpad is, i'll always be faster with a mouse.

None of the PC laptop multi-touchpads work as well as the Macbook ones in my experience. Is there one out there now?

I do too, but when you're in a constricted space like on a plane, or a small table at a trade show, there's no room to use a mouse. I have the Micro$oft Arc Mouse, and it's a great laptop mouse.
