Cheapest but great torch, made in Japan.

Middle option
https://www.amazon.ca/Bernzomatic-TS.../dp/B0019CQL60

Most expensive option
https://sansaire.com/sansaire-searing-kit/

I have been digging deeper with the help of a buddy who has been in the sous vide game for a long time.

He had the Sansaire and said it's crap because it lacks control (only on-off) . :fuckthatshit:

So, I ended up ordering a set of Searzall+ Bernzomatic TS8000 kit he lent me.

It's not the most elegant set comparing to Sansaire, but the searing was amazing and for the price (40USD for the TS8000, and just over 100CAD for Searzall)

When it comes to lighting, I'm not the brightest. Do these exist anywhere locally? I looked around Walmart, London Drugs and grocery stores and couldn't find anything. Did not try Home Depot or Canadian Tire yet. Need the ones with a screw-in base.

The ones in my bathroom light are labelled IKEA but according to the Internet, IKEA stopped selling CF bulbs 3 years ago. Seems the corkscrew types are readily available. I'm guessing the corkscrews would work just fine assuming the specs are similar?

Why not change the bulbs to LED instead?

True. I was just wondering if these are kicking around or if they're an old style and not really made anymore.

Then again, with my building being demolished next year, I'm totally cool with the cheapest, least useful choice.

Looking for collapsable sun shade, don't like the accordian/foldable type, too bulky. Looking for the kind that are like 2 circles/oval, snaps into thin fold using a 'zen origame' like move.

I would argue that the accordion ones fold up into a smaller package when not in use. These ones don't really collapse into a small enough size imo.

i tried to get a replacement cartridge and they didn't replace mine and just said too bad

mk1freak 09-13-2018 07:18 PM

That was my experience too

lilaznviper 09-13-2018 08:01 PM

depends on the person you get, some can be assholes,
i got the handle, the water spout and the cartridge and they shipping it all to me lol. pretty much got a nice new shiny set to replace my old one.

try emailing as well. i got replacement cartridges a couple times from email as well.

GLOW 09-15-2018 06:42 AM

this was via email. they said sorry it's only for the original owner. i thought to myself that i never told them i bought an old house how would they know :lol

syee 09-15-2018 10:29 AM

FYI, Moen offers the same thing too. They'll replace parts free of charge (to the original owner). I did mention to them that my shower was installed by a plumber so I didn't have any proof of purchase for it - they sent me the parts free as a "one time courtesy". Perhaps try that line with them and see what they say.

What kind of shoes are you guys wearing in the winter with all the rain? Waterproof? Low cut boots?

Any suggestions of a comfortable waterproof shoe to wear on the weekend, with jeans would be appreciated.

Any recommendation for an accountant?

More precisely, for a self-employed/single-person corporation in consulting (education) business.

Thx!
