Don't they have something up in Hell's Gate? |
I think one of the better viewable spawning channels in the lower mainland, is at Weaver Creek. It's just west of Harrison. http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/sep-pmv...weaver-eng.htm A few years back, the channel was full of spawning salmon. The facility is larger than the one at Capilano. I still think Adams river is better, but Weaver Creek is closer. |
I went to the Adams River too. My dad kept trying to scare me that there are bears around hunting for food, but later on, some old folks told me that those fish are not edible. You could see how tired the fish are swimming upstream. I was able to even lift one up from the water without it panicking. |
went to Weaver creek last week.... lots of salmon... go early or else u'll be fighting for parking..... |
how do you get to this Adam's River? (i've no clue) :/ |
Adams River is by Kamloops, around Salmon Arm/Chase area. It's been a while since I took the kids up there about 10 years ago? Google Salmon Arm. |
woah all the way in Salmon Arm bah |

Lots of places are good. When I was younger I'd always go fishing up at Squamish and see bountyfulls of salmon running. Posted via RS Mobile |

That's like asking Why do some people like to be choked before reaching an orgasm? I've no fucking clue as to why they do it but it must bring excitement, pleasure, fun and amusement, which is what some people experience by going to the spawning channels. While spawning happens every year, the numbers reaches its peak every 4 years, and this year is the 4th year in the cycle. It's said that the numbers this year is greater than a lot of the previous peak years. That's probably the reason why there's such a big hype this year. Personally, I stopped by because I find a lot of aspects of nature interesting. Plus, it's nice to get out of the city every now and then. Have you also considered that maybe your coworker was lying just to skip out on a couple hours of work? :lol |
i was at weaver creek last week but everyone saying adams river is the place to go.. anyone know if there are any tours going up there? like a 1 day thing.. |
Wow i wish i was around to see this. Looks like i'll have to go next year. I'm sure its always awesome to see! Thanks for all the info! Post more pics if possible! Thanks! |
