determine the value and quality of a used car

Hello everyone!
I am wondering what are the more advance questions you could ask the used car dealer in order to determine the value and quality of a used car

These are some of the questions I can think of:
% usage of brake, age of battery, when air filter changed?

what about timing belt? what is that? how to ask about timing belt? what are the other expansive components should consider to ask question?

is there a some sort of report or list that shows detail information of each auto parts rather than just the basic spec like engine type etc. Thanks.

For timing belts, sometimes there will be a sticker in the engine bay telling you when it was last replaced and what kms it was replaced at. Timing belts should be replaced around every 100k kms.

do you know any other expansive parts need to take more consideration for used car purchase?

does anyone has way to figure out if the sunroof is factory installed or was later on installed by 3rd party? i know some 3rd party installation has problem, i rather not have a 3rd party installed sunroof since there might be leaking problem

US Import = the car was originally owned by someone/bought in the states... not made there LOL that's not really a warning sign if it's a domestic.

The sunroof button usually is a dead giveaway, factory cars tend to have mismatched or out of place switches. You could just google image that car's interior/exterior beforehand see if it is one. If it's a mercedes, a 3rd party sunroof is probably more reliable than the factory ones...

Brake pads aren't that expensive but easy thing to do is check the pad thickness/listen, and the colour of the brake fluid is easy to see from under the hood. If you take it for a test drive check if there is any weird wobble in the steering wheel, may be warped rotors.

Check if windows go all the way up and down and if the AC blows cold

For some things it's best to hire someone to inspect the car, it's not expensive under $100 and could save you a lot of money in the long run
