No, it is not safe. It can blow when you least expect it. Don't take the risk, spend the $100 and replace it.

Mugen EvOlutioN 10-25-2010 07:09 AM

replace it

Mr.Jay 10-25-2010 07:14 AM

is it worth your chancing your life?

replace

Soundy 10-25-2010 07:33 AM

Nah, it's perfectly safe. Take it to the track.

tire damage = dangerous.

alex.w *// 10-25-2010 09:03 AM

not safe, high chance of side blowout

christiankirana 10-25-2010 09:33 AM

thanks for the input guys. but any idea to get it cheap? saw in canadiantire each tire goes at 230+..

ilvtofu 10-25-2010 09:38 AM

sora't has some affordable tires and they can get pretty much any tire that you need. If it's just one you should just replace that one with the same thing

christiankirana 10-25-2010 10:25 AM

yeah, only need 1..

Volvo-brickster 10-25-2010 10:36 AM

Check out tire craft / budget brake and muffler and other independent shops....they sell a lot of used tires for cheap

that is pretty scary if you can see the cords in the sidewall. Replace it for safety

dinamix 10-25-2010 10:44 AM

take a screw driver and pull it out. use a tire repair kit
i had something like that and it cost me less than 5 bux to fix

you can not repair sidewall damage to a tire.

if the damage was in the tread, you would be able to use a plug or patch and plug but NOT on the sidewall.

since you can clearly see steel cords through the sidewall i would highly recommend replacing the tire.

Phil@rise 10-25-2010 11:58 AM

Any time you see exposed/damaged belts especially on the sidewall it's best to replace the tire. Tire plugs as depicted above are for temporary repairs only.

illicitstylz 10-25-2010 01:08 PM

yeah you can't repair the tire if it's that far into the sidewall. have it replaced

bloodmack 10-25-2010 01:14 PM

Sidewall damage = useless tire. Better off recycling it and getting a new/used tire.

dink 10-25-2010 01:34 PM

BJAutohaus would not recommend or even offer to patch your tire if you have sidewall damage, its not safe to drive after that. Buy a new tire.

What just happened? I was just offering advice.

dark0821 10-25-2010 02:42 PM

i will try craiglist if you are only lookin for 1 to 2 tires... and no need for new either.. get smth thats like 80-90 thread..for liek 60% of the price..especially if the seller only has 1 or 2 tires and not a full set

KiDEclipse 10-25-2010 03:11 PM

You do know it is illegal to repair a sidewall damaged tire.

so your advice is totally useless and illegal.
