just as I thought... I tried it out. Limewire still works, you just can't get the software off their site anymore.

Although I stopped using these programs now, cause I find torrent more efficient. I usually grab an entire album, not so much individual songs anymore.
And if I do need to get individual songs, I just type "(songname) mp3 $$$$$$$$$$(/mediafire,etc)" and I usually will find it available to download quickly.

i still have kazaa on my old desktop still works i think, but the best program for me to download music was winmix when it was still free & foxy before there was free internet porn

It's impossible to "shut down" because there are no centralized servers running as the backbone of the network.

I remember in the beginning, there was napster.

The last of these programs I use was BearShare.

I remember using Direct Connect for awhile... it was actually quite useful for finding some obscure files.

Try Grooveshark.com if you don't mind streaming mp3's instantly. You can search almost any song and album listings on there.

hmmm frostwire isn't working. Anyone been able to use that to download? I downloaded frostwire for my gf since she used limewire but I tried to test it out and nothing worked. It's exactly like limewire except its blue
