BCAA's great service!

Hi guys, i just wanted to share a story about how wonderful BCAA can be. i am personally not a member, as i havent been driving for very long. but both my parents are members.

so, where i work, there is no employee parking, and super rare street parking nearby. so i usually take the skytrain. my mom usually gets up early for work too, so she drops me off at the skytrain station.

last night, she was complaining that her RAV4 was making more noises than usual, but my dad drove it and said its fine.

this morning when she was driving me to the skytrain, the noises got REALLY BAD. we heard rattling, and small grinding sounds coming from the front left wheel. when she dropped me off, i got off to take a look at the wheel, and saw that the TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. (surprised we didnt notice that when we got onto the car in the morning lol). turns out there was a nail stuck in the tires.

so i tell her its too dangerous to drive home (its raining too). so she called BCAA, and they arrived within ~30 minutes. they removed the nail, sealed and pumped the tires, all for 15$ (but remember, shes a BCAA member).

long story short, they arrived on scene really fast, and fixed it really fast. for 15$, i think thats pretty fair ;]

wanted to share this story because i find alot of people i know refuse to trust and acknowledge BCAA for anything (whether it be car inspections, or other services). i am now considering signing up for membership incase i run into unexpected problems on the road ;D

BCAA is great .... if you make use of it. I've saved a lot of money having a membership.

I've had several car's (mine and friend's) towed with no hassle. The cost of membership payed for itself a few times over.

One time I went to a party and ended up running into some old friends and proceeded to get totally hammered. At the end of the night, I just got BCAA to give me a lift and tow my car home, ready for the next day.

+1

BCAA is a must when you consider what possible tow situations you can get yourself into.

i've never used BCAA before but everyone i know who has membership with them has found it useful.

on a related note, has anyone here heard of/used the Deluxe TD Auto Club?

it came free with my TD Visa (gold elite) and it was extremely useful to me on one occasion thus far:

I had locked myself out of my car at a gas station all the way out in Aldergrove. Called these guys up and they sent a locksmith out within 30mins and the service was free! The guy on the phone was polite and very helpful as well.

I too, have had nothing but great service from BCAA - other than the time when the truck driver spat and it landed like 10cm away from my foot.

He apologized though, so i guess it's fine. but spitting disgusts the shit out of my anyways

I have also had to use my BCAA towing service twice, thank goodness, the tow itself already costs the amount of the membership so it's totally worth it if you tow once a year.

Depends on the membership, the lower tier membership tow range is like 5km which is not much.

Also if your parents already members you can add your membership under theirs and its like half price.

Up to whatever the established limit and number of tows is, yes. My CAA Premier membership gives me 4 tows up to 200km and 1 tow of up to 320km. I honestly don't recall how much my membership was but it was easily negated by a 175km tow from Barrie to Waterloo. 4 more tows this year still, plus free gas if I run out, all of the other benefits, it's more than worthwhile.
