Wanted: Volunteers for filming a new RS project

I'm developing a new monthly film project for RS (which will remain a relative secret for now lol) and am looking for people familiar with film and various aspects of it. If you know how to work a prosumer camera, a steadicam, setting up lighting, etc., let me know. Or if you feel you have a creative mind that you're willing to lend, you're welcome as well.

This project will take off in the beginning of 2011 so there's no rush yet for figuring out if you have time to help out.

Reply here or shoot me a PM if you're interested.

-Jon

I'm still kind of a video noob, compared to photo but I'm definitely interested. I'll hopefully be moving to Van for work within the next couple months, so that should work out nicely. How many people are you looking for, roughly?

Lomac 10-28-2010 10:22 PM

It will depend on the project I'm working on at the time, so it could be simply just one extra person or up to three or four in order to help set things up and handle whatever traffic may be around.

I'll keep you updated though. :) Let me know when you're back in town!

I dont know much about video, but I have a creative mind and could help do things like setup/takedown, control traffic, etc.

PM me if you need bodies for stuff... LOL

I know that you're looking for people who may have more experience, but I would be very interested in helping out, even though I may have limited experience, I really want to get into the whole video making/editing. So if you need an extra guy doing something, I would gladly help!

ah_cat 11-30-2010 03:33 PM

you guys just want to be there for hot girls! ;P

Sounds like a fun project. I don't know much about film but I want to learn. PM if you need an extra body or something.

Ok Lomac, I think I've picked a track for the music. Just gotta write a bit of a script now! Damnit!

metal 01-25-2011 01:41 AM

Forgot about this thread until right now. I'm moved and living in Richmond now, any updates?

orgasm_donor 01-25-2011 11:09 PM

Lomac and I had a meeting today on this subject. We have a camera, most of the storyboard, the music track, some parts of the shot list and of course, a car. :)

We really need somebody with a truck, SUV or van to shoot rolling shots from.

genesis195 01-26-2011 02:42 PM

Dont' got truck, suv or van, but I has a steady cam (still have to balance it.)? I know it's not related but just letting you guys know ><''

Lomac 01-27-2011 12:38 AM

Actually a steady cam would be perfect! So long as it's capable of holding a camera that's 2-3lb's.

But as OD said, we're still looking for someone who has a van, truck or SUV.

pm'd you guys

Hey I still owe you a prize dude. I haven't forgotten about you!

Lomac 01-30-2011 10:14 PM

OD, I already talked with him. It's all good. We got our truck and driver. :)

MindBomber 02-06-2011 10:02 PM

I'd also be happy to help out with set-up, traffic control, general help if the dates you need help don't fall to closely to times my exams or midterms.

genesis195 02-10-2011 12:45 AM

^ agreed with mind bomber.

My steady cam can hold that as I'm using it for my 5d. But probs is a friend effed around with the balance, so now i need to re balance the thing ==

Lomac 02-10-2011 09:32 AM

No worries. I can balance it. My VG10 is a little more front heavy than the 5D anyway. I think we're looking at a shooting date for late feb, early March for the first video. I'll send a PM to those interested in helping when I get a better idea on the shooting date.
