The 400 2.8, 400 5.6 or 100-400 5.6?

When i had the 400 5.6 i loved it alot, and it had really quick AF. Great lens!

To stay on topic, i say 50mm F1.8 because its fun and you'll think its the greatest thing ever when you first put it on.

50mm F1.8 is good to start off. It's cheap, you can find one on CL for $100buxs.

Kit lens for me was a 18-135 f3.5-5.6

Very shortly after, being a Noob I went to get myself a 70-300VR. I thought it was the best thing EVER then i soon realized ... I only use that lens ... well almost never the 135 was "good enuff" for most of the shots I wanted. So I got the 50 f1.8 prob the cheapest and best lens I got, portrait, crop. It was great even around town.

IMO, 50 f1.8 was the best choice I made, till I got the 35 f1.8.... then the tokina 11-16 f2.8 (thanks Senna4ver) then Tokina 18-50 f2.8.... now to get a 2.8 zoom.... he he he
