How much does a decent lip kit paint job cost?

hey guys
I have a lip kit which is not the color of my car.
So, I am going to get them painted.
Any idea how much would places such as evo garage charge me?
Its A Spec TSX lip kit.
Just want to have a general idea before I go to talk to them.

thanks:thumbsup:

First of all wait a second.

What color is your TSX?

See if your car pearl white then as mugen_evolution said its a tri coat color meaning more $$$... If its a standard black then it will be cheaper. Alot of places will tell u hey you want your work done " Professionally " then spend more but in the end its somewhat the same shit.

Yes i know some places actually have better quality paint but were painting plastic and not metal.

Bottom line dont go spend $800 bucks at some shop who claim they will do a better job then the other guy cause its a waste.

I had quite alot of experience on this subject and found a guy who didnt bullshit and painted my Tri Coat Sideskirt for $150 flat. With that being said i will recommend him so go to All Star Wheels on Buller.St in Burnaby by Blockbuster near Kingsway. His name is Jeff. He will be more then happy to help you out!

that $150 wasnt including install + fitting it on properly tho, remember that was only for straight up paint job

he quoted me 200 sth sth before i forgot

maybe $250

my TSX's color is Carbon Grey Pearl.

I have a front lip in white, sides and rear are in black.
Lol, i know..funny combination, I got the whole kit for 600 dollars. I bought the front from one owner and the sides + rear from another owner....

Thought I was getting a good deal...forgot to factor in the painting cost = =''

So ya..600 for the kit + 700 for paint + 200 installation = 1500
Not sure if this is a good price for an A spec kit anymore.:(:(
How much they usually cost? at dealership? evo? aj?

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-09-2010 03:11 PM

my buddy bought a aspec lip for his TL

he paid $550-600 per piece painted

-EuroRSN- 11-09-2010 03:13 PM

^ See dont go Evo or AJ cause well their not even body shops... Seriously best bet go around some smaller body shops and they will more likely get u a better deal.

weird i didnt know it was that cheap, i believe i spoke to jeff and he told me it was around $250. I gotta get my rear lip repaired for next season, guess i need to drop in for repair

maxxxboost 11-09-2010 03:33 PM

It depends if they need to be primered or fixed up (rock chips) or if it's a straight up scotch pad and paint.

You get what you pay for.

Averge i would say is 200-300 per item and that's if you don't know anyone.
That ranges from straight spray to prep, primer and spray

ilvtofu 11-09-2010 03:44 PM

My family's been going to advantage collision for a while. They do an alright paint job for pretty cheap. He quoted me around $150-200 to do what you wanted. Last time my mom drove over a curb in her 05 TL which pulled part of the side skirt off and scratched a bunch of paint off, they did it for $50, although the week before we brought it in to paint the bumper for $200 to fix damages from the previous owner. No complaints about their quality, and I'm guessing the price will be the same or less than the places that you'll find.

I'm not sure if their name is advantage collision for sure, but chinese name is "suern lay" they are behind Ikea in richmond.
