Where to buy a desk?

I'm looking for a new desk...anyone have an office furniture place recommendation?

satek 11-14-2010 01:14 PM

Ikea or craigslist free section

FN-2199 11-14-2010 01:18 PM

+1 for Ikea. Affordable and awesome. I suggest you make a trip down there and see what you like!

pros about ikea is that it looks good and is cheap
cons is that they break easily and some things are quite fragile..

WTF?

I like Ikea stuff but they're quite limited when it comes to desks. Plus most of them are too small...I have a pretty big desk right now and want something similar in size.

United Furniture Warehosue .. doot doot

Office Depot and Staples sell office desks and chairs etc.

Purely 11-14-2010 01:39 PM

Staples

dachinesedude 11-14-2010 01:55 PM

+1 for Ikea, my whole room is basically Ikea, been using for years and not one piece has broken yet

Mobler Furniture beside Ikea in Richmond is good too

double0seven 11-14-2010 01:55 PM

Well you can always make one yourself :troll:

Inaii 11-14-2010 02:01 PM

Ronin what kind of desk are you looking for? And what is your budget? If you pm me some pictures, I can see if I can find something similar at work tomorrow :)

Mr.HappySilp 11-14-2010 02:08 PM

craigslist I recently pick up a really nice L shape desk. It much better than what Ikkea sells for 1/3 of the price too. Looks brand new.

aradi 11-14-2010 02:09 PM

I saw a very nice, glass, L shaped desk at jysk for 100ish dollars, I want to pick it up for when I move

Ronin - I got just the right place for you since you are a baller and we all know it.

Enjoy! :)

satek 11-14-2010 02:29 PM

Loads of free desks

hchang 11-14-2010 02:31 PM

I got my office furniture from Staples.

In comparison, the prices were cheaper than Office Depot, at least for the same style/size that I was looking for.

The chair I got is comfy as hell and was only $99.99 iirc.

Jgresch 11-14-2010 02:32 PM

To the ppl suggesting craigslist, he already has a desk... he wants a nice, new one. not some free p.o.s

aradi 11-14-2010 02:35 PM

I don't want an L shape...just one large desk. No glass either...need something substantial for monitor arms.

Also too small. My current desk is about 6' x 2.5' so I'll want something similar in size.

Price? What hotbaby suggested is too much. Uh...let's try to stay near $500.
