What do you guys do when you can't fall asleep? This insomnia is getting to me. What do you guys do to fall asleep? Any home remedies/techniques? I've been mindlessly surfing the net for hours now. This is brutal. Another hour and I might resort to opening a textbook. |
already 6 am might as well stay up |

1) don't eat or exercise 4-5 hrs before sleep 2) no TV or games or reading 2-3 hrs before sleep 3) wake up early every morning, even you have nothing to do. 4) go to bed at 10 or earlier if it takes you few hr to fall asleep 5) smoke a joint |
when I can't sleep I just drink a glass a milk and either watch tv or play some xbox until I get tired. if worse comes to worse, you can always turn to sleeping pills. But I heard there are some crazy side effects for some people. |

dude, just fap, or ask a girl friend of yours about her love life. |
read a boring book. |
Hump your pillows. Posted via RS Mobile |
Ask your GF to talk about her feelings. If that doesn't put you to sleep it means your the ghey and should make a sandwich. |
massage if you can get one. (massage chair @home is boss) a nice bath is pretty solid too. especially if you have a nice doob rolled up. i is so relaxed i'd probably shit myself in the tub if i wasn't sitting on my butt. ymmv. |
go for a cruise. get sideways in a rwd. |
Watch baseball or NASCAR highlights, silly Americans.. That should put you asleep or listen to your girlfriend, that works too Posted via RS Mobile |
Watch a movie, pretty much every night in september I watched a movie and fell asleep after 15-20 mins. Lol took me a week to get through a movie but yeah, always works for me. Just don't watch something that's really good and engaging. |
Don't take naps 4-5 hours before you go to bed. When I can't sleep, I just do some boring ass homework till I get sleepy. Posted via RS Mobile |
Go to bed, and read a book. Or what really works for me, I listen to sports talk on CKNW after I've gone to bed. Lights out of course. That usually does the trick. Good luck, I hate not being able to fall asleep :( |
Had the same problem but now I take a pill. I was at the point of not being able to fall asleep at all I would lay in bed toss and turn before i know it the sun would be coming up and I'd be having to goto school in an hour. Brutal times. Atleast now I get 8 hours instead of one or two. Posted via RS Mobile |
surf the interwebs  |
i learnt these tips in psychology: your bed should be used for only two things: sleep and sex. when you associate your bed with reading, tv, computers, etc you are no longer using the bed primarily for sleep. so if you have these things in your room, try to eliminate them or at least limit usage prior to sleeping. it's best if you only jump in bed when you want to sleep. sidenote: apparently having a tv in the bedroom kills your sex life (if you two sleep in the same room regularly, ie your wife) also, give yourself time to wind down. do an activity you find boring and doesn't require a whole lot of focus. ie, for some people this may be reading, clipping your nails, or anything else you find boring. only other thing i could recommend is a shake weight for your wife/gf :awesom: |
^ good tip. you can also try melatonin. my friend couldn't sleep well these days and took some last nite and slept for 11 hours. myself woke up at 3 am last night and couldn't sleep till 5-6 in the morning. I fell back to sleep afterwards. that happens when I have too much on my mind. I kept trying to relax myself and stop thinking of what I need to do the next day. |
when i had problems sleeping before, i would plan ahead and go to a community centre to use their pool, sauna and whirlpool. the sauna and whirlpool is relaxing and gets my mind off things. Also when ur in bed trying to sleep, do not look at the time. |

I sometimes slap on a movie. I pay attention for the first bit, then end up losing focus and falling asleep. Posted via RS Mobile |
Drink a cup of warm milk |
