Well. It has the same style V8 as the last gen Audi A8. I'm surprised a lot of people would turn you away. Air suspension on lift mode. Oil filter is under the airbox and is taken off with a 24mm socket. And the drain plug is an 8mm I believe Hex. Plus all those screws holding the belly pan. That with 8L of synthetic oil and you're good to go. Then you'd need the VAG COM to reset the Service Light. and done. So don't let these service advisors at VW or Audi tell you they CANT do it. Technically you're suppose to suck out the oil from the dip stick, but most places don't have that suction tool for VW/Audi. I'd just GO to the VW dealership, and tell them you want an oil change done. They can't turn you away especially when its just an oil change, if they do, make a huge fuss. It's true, you can't be a VW dealership and not know how to work on these cars. Otherwise take it to an Audi dealership since its the same as an A8 (motor wise). |
Hmm I didn't know but turns out they still make this car in europe: http://www.youngmanblog.com/wp-conte...1805567131.jpg |
I've seen a phaeton in Richmond around No.2 road at times especially last year... and seen a V8 for sale on CL sometime ago... don't know if it's all the same.... But Phaeton's 2nd choice for imo if it's to pick with S class etc when we had phaetons here... |

Too bad, because I'd totally pay $20k on one. |
Yeah, Phaeton's aren't super rare, but they're rare enough. I guess it helps when nobody bought one in the first place. :lol I do really like 'em, though. Super luxurious with an absolutely understated look. Most people think it's "just another Passat" and wouldn't think twice about trying to see who is in the backseat. Definitely a car that you can slip through a crowded city in and not have to worry about prying eyes. Much like the BMW 850csi from the 90's, it's a car that I would dearly love to own, but am too afraid of the exorbitant repair bills. |
ill give cg motorsports a try tomorrow. i never tried calling them cuz i thought they only specialize in BMW. thanks for the suggestion. I was very impressed with the luxury and options of this vehicle. my gosh the back seat has so much space. i literally cannot reach the back seat from the driver's seat. i have to actually move the seat back almost all the way just so i can reach. The one disadvantage this car has is the weight. it totals in at 5000+lbs. which is heavier than a Ford F150. my jaws dropped when i looked at the total weight of this car. Guess i know where my gas goes now. |
