Matt is awesome, he also owns HIDplanet.com as well, so you can always get tech help from him there. I wouldn't buy an HID kit from anywhere else.

If we can't get 10 people for the Morimotos, if anyone else wants to buy TRS products maybe he'll let us add them to the group buy for wholesale prices.

That sounds great but we don't all have to get exactly the same thing right? I know we are all going for morimoto's but the shrouds and bulbs can be different right?

MindBomber 12-14-2010 12:30 PM

We'd have to check with Matt, but it would be impossible to organize a group buy for morimotos if we all need to buy identical kits.

ToneCapone 12-14-2010 06:44 PM

Makes sense, I am thinking January?

Anybody know any reputable installers? I know this setup is supposed to be easy but I have a dillema where my current hid kit is behind my front bumper which means I gotta take it off and rip out the existing wiring.

Also when it comes time to install would the projectors fit through the oem lighting hole and you cant mount it straight from the engine bay? or do you really have to take out the entire light (like the youtube videos), do the oven thing, and mount it that way?

!Aznboi128 12-14-2010 07:39 PM

^ you have to take the headlight out chances is you need to take the bumper off. Put it in the oven bake it. Take off the lens. Mount projector. Make sure it's level. Glue on shroud. Remount the headlight lens. Run electrical for the lights tap high beam for bi-xenon. Mount ballast. Reinstall headlight connect electrical. Re install bumper. Done.

Should take 4 hrs for both lights when you start off.

Remember to get some sealant for the headlight housing. Double sided tape to mount the ballast. And some high temp glue/sealant to mount the shroud on to the projector.

There is.

What is the next step in arranging a group buy, I've never set one up before.

edit: yeah I wanan know the next step too. Klobbersaurus you sound like you got the info we need

MindBomber 01-08-2011 04:32 PM

I'd be down for a group retrofit meet.
I don't have a space to do it, but I could bring my heat gun if thats any help.

SumAznGuy 01-08-2011 04:52 PM

I'm still in for my CRV.

i would be interested as well in the gb

ToneCapone 01-17-2011 02:55 PM

bump, how you guys gonna install these lights? The guy who said he can do it for me bailed out sayin it was too hard. Are you guys plannin to do it yourselves or go to a shop?

BTW talked to TRS "We could get discounts on the setups applied for you guys on any order with 2+ people, so there's good incentives to buy as a group!"

so even if we got only the 5 peeps its still alright

SumAznGuy 01-17-2011 02:58 PM

I was planning on doing them myself.

I've taken s2000 tail lights apart before. Wasn't too difficult. Hopefully, the head lights are similar in difficulty.

MindBomber 01-17-2011 03:01 PM

I'm planning on doing it myself as well, I picked up a spare set of used OEM headlights off Ebay for $25 shipped, so I got a back up in case I screw up.

I'm probably going to try a heat gun and if that fails I'll do the oven method. If anyone is willing to host a group install session I'd be in for that too.

!Aznboi128 01-17-2011 03:03 PM

if someone said it's too hard that guy is a total noob.

I did these myself 1st time under 3hrs, 2nd time was about 2 hours with proper aim and a lot of breaks

blkgsr 01-17-2011 09:10 PM

i'm in for a set as well, but it will be slightly different then whats listed

i've already emailed and nate has given me a couple selections

let me know (pm me) when you're ready to go

!Aznboi128 01-17-2011 09:16 PM

Just a fyi tho,

nice. I might just try do it myself but I never dissasembled anything other than the battery on my car. So based on your experience would you say removing the front bumper and headlights is relatively easy? Thats the part im worried about the most. All I really have is a couple tools and a bunch of time.

Abt the group buy issue, didnt really know that. Too bad
