MFRT HID kits

Original thread here.

Has anyone here on RS got them installed by MFRT and does anyone have any pics of the lights and how wide the beams are. Any idea about the cutoff?

I see a lot of people asking on that thread but no pics or replies.

I'm looking at them for my 00 CRV. The stock lights with Sylvania silverstars just don't cut it since I have been spoiled by my S2000.

ToneCapone 11-26-2010 03:05 PM

bump, any examples/details of their work would be great.

these are the G1 projectors

cut off is good but the width isn't, also notice how there's a lot of light in the middle and less on the sides.

if you want a pnp projector get the mini h1

tofu1413 11-30-2010 06:53 PM

yea, they were selling those retro fit kits during the summer..

i remember they also had halo rings on them, if desired.

basically opening up stock housing, then putting in the projector. plug and play sort of...

MindBomber 11-30-2010 07:46 PM

They haven't pm'd me back with a price yet and I would rather install myself anyway, so I looked around and this is the most affordable quality kit I've found. Its straight plug and play, and I've been told by a number of people that these projectors outperform most OEM ones.

Count me in. Now, 4300K or 5000K?

Klobbersaurus 12-01-2010 09:40 PM

i mean, who wants to start one haha, im in also for a 4300k if someone wants to start one

Klobbersaurus 12-02-2010 09:23 PM

Well I emailed TRS and got some prices, if I can get 10 people in, it will be between 200-250 a kit depending on if I get charged duty or not when I cross the border

I'm in, I was planning on buying these shortly. Considering the kit itself is $275, this an unbelievable deal.

MindBomber 12-02-2010 11:36 PM

Projector Comparison:TSX,S2K,SC430,RX330 LS430,TL,E55,FX, Morimoto

Klobbersaurus 12-02-2010 11:47 PM

they said they would send me a pdf with prices but forgot to attach the pdf?

"Thanks for your inquiry and for your patience waiting on a reply here. We offer wholesale pricing to installers and re-sellers, which you can see in the attached PDF document. If you are interested in only one particular item like a Morimoto Mini Stage III kit with everything required for a conversion, we can price them as low as around $200 for everything required for everything in the kit that we normally sell for $275 + shipping on the website."

i would say if this group buy happens, it will be with the morimoto stage III h1 kit only but i will post prices once i get them

SumAznGuy 12-03-2010 01:21 AM

Count me in for a set.

Mfrt sells G1 not mini h1

I just got 6 sets of mini h1 from matt (trs)

If anything I say just get the projector + shroud + bulb from him it'll cost about 150 each shipped via usps. ballast you can get locally for cheap

MindBomber 12-06-2010 06:52 PM

Have you received the prices yet Klobbersaurus?

I'd like to see this thread moved or another made in the Vancouver auto chat section if this GB is on, that area gets much higher traffic than here.

Klobbersaurus 12-07-2010 03:05 PM

yea i got the prices, aznboi makes a good point, to get the projector, shroud and bulb will be approx $150 so if people are willing to fork over $50 more, you would get the harness and
ballasts, hmmm

MindBomber 12-07-2010 07:18 PM

That might get more people into doing a GB, since some people already have DDM or would prefer to just buy DDM..

Personally, I would rather have the full Morimoto set-up.. thats easier than dealing with garbage ballasts that break and need to be replaced..

SumAznGuy 12-07-2010 07:43 PM

I agree with what Mindbomber said.

MindBomber 12-08-2010 06:32 PM

Could you please post the price list, so we can try to set-up a group buy.

Klobbersaurus 12-08-2010 06:51 PM

yea sure, where can i post a pdf for viewing?

MindBomber 12-09-2010 03:25 PM

^pm a mod and ask maybe..

MindBomber 12-09-2010 09:36 PM

Could you just post the prices Matt quoted for the full set-up, then we can try and get a GB off then ground? Three people just bought them on civicforums and they look unbelievable.

ToneCapone 12-13-2010 08:17 PM

I emailed these guys asking for a recommendation for my vehicle. Matt from TRS sent me a very descriptive and professional message. Im actually super impressed by their level of customer service.

I asked for a complete kit so they offered me two good choices. I think I am going to go with the morimoto kit as well:

Morimoto Mini Bi-xenon projectors (D2S)
Morimoto 3Five Digital ballasts w/ brackets
Morimoto 3Five 4300K/5000K/6000K D2S bulbs
Your choice of shrouds/bezels (same as above)
9003/H4 Bi-xenon relay wire harness
Quoted price: $300 shipped UPS with tracking and insurance

If you guys seriously want to do a group buy lets make it happen. I seriously bet if we even get only 5 people they will still cut us a deal.
