You'd probably have to determine how the PRC will act if hell does break loose. North Korea's geographic proximity to China serves as a military bulwark from Japan (and by this extension, American military dominance). It's a delicate situation for South Korea and the Japan/United States alliance, but it's an even more volatile situation for China, which in my opinion will be the sole determinant for the outcomes of any hypothetical conflict. |

The Russians are condemning the artilleries from both sides... |
All that matters is how China reacts, really |

from what i read about the incident is the ship hit a mine or something and the usa needed an excuse to not pull its military out of Japan (because Japan was about to vote for the USA to get out) and so some threat of destabilization would allow them to stay (and well it worked) + some other stuff can't really remember or care that much but about this? :Popcorn:Popcorn |
there are 28000 active american troops stationed in korea right now. if the north attacks and any of the 28000 soldiers are killed/injured, the US definitely will step in. fucking north korea... there are rumours from korean media floating around that kim jong il is dead and his newly appointed predecessor and his youngest son, kim jong un, ordered the attack to 1) show the world that he ain't a softy and he means business 2) show his generals and high ranking political party leaders that he's boss and discourage them from a possible coup fora power struggle most of you guys don't know but there have been 2 other incidents near that island in the past. they had a quite large navy ship battle where there were casualties on both sides. |
2012 is real end |
Just destroy north korea already and we all pretend there was never a north korea, rename south korea to "korea island". Reprint all the world maps with water between china and south korea. Problem solved. Posted via RS Mobile |
This little conflict will be resolved very quickly IMHO. The world is just coming out the worst recession in a generation, so it is in China and U.S.'s interests as well the two Korea that this particular issue it dealt swiftly through diplomacy and not by the use of force. |
What do guys think of this prophet. |

just repeating what someone else has already said on another comment: China won’t let North Korea attack South Korea any more aggressively as it is a client state of their biggest debtor, not to mention the biggest purchaser of their manufactured goods. No way the elites in China will jeopardize 10% GDP growth for the sake of a madman in Pyongyang. |
^ biggest debtor and biggest purchaser of manuf. goods being the USA. |

I would agree though their attack to be a propaganda act for north koreans to keep them brainwashed. |
