Bell Retentions

I have been looking around in the Mobile Phone Chat forums and it seems like Rogers and Fido pretty much have an amazing retentions program...But I have never heard anything about Bell or Telus.

I am with Bell right now and was just wondering if there are any ways to actually receive any Retention benefits from them. I read stuff about Rogers Retention plans and they seem like really good bargains...

Anyone?

I recently renewed my contract with Telus and after reading around, you should be able to get something pretty decent with Bell, but your mileage will vary depending on which rep you get. I would call in a few times and see how far you can go with them.

Call in during the morning as the reps are better.
BE POLITE!

Tell them you are looking around as there are new carriers in the market. However, do NOT use it as a threat. (only as last resort)
Simply tell them you are looking for a better deal and you WANT to stay with Bell.

Ask for the "all in" plans. Say your buddy got one and is wondering if you can get one as well. If they are ask to get the other number, just say your buddy told you to call but you dont want to involve them in the situation out of consideration.

Keep in mind all Bell calls are logged via recording and memos. Even your failed calls to retentions are typed in the memos. If you fail a couple times, give it a week or so before you call in again.
Just make sure you get the name and employee number of the rep you get a deal from.

^Thanks K2_alpha, I am currently on a corporate plan (and it's not bad) but I just want to get a data add on except, bell's data features are rape prices. I know that there are quite a few other providers (such as mobilicity) who have amazing data add-ons. Also, in the summer, Bell had the 6gb data for 30$ promo that I kind of want... Do you think that I can call in and ask for anything similar to that? I just finished 1 out of 3 years of my contract....

The 6g is over. Even if the rep wanted to give it to you, he can't.
Since you are already on a corporate plan, dont expect much. You already pay less than most people pay in their retention deals from Bell and other carriers. Since you just finished only 1 year, you wont get much love.

You have to remember that you are comparing Bell to Moblicity.
I hear customers complain all the time about the new carriers.
However, you HAVE to REMEMBER that Bell, Telus and Rogers are all PREMIUM carriers. You CANNOT compare them to BUDGET carriers. Chatr, Wind, Solo, Kudoo, and Moblicity are BUDGET carriers. Wind and Moblicity do have an impressive line up for the price plans they offer, but they lack benefits of the premium carriers. Where as premium carriers, may offer you more in a certain aspect, you have to pay more per month.

As a consumer you have to figure out what you as the consumer needs in a contract. Only then you can figure out what carrier you should choose.
