Your Favourite Restaurants

The "Top Restaurants" threads have been done to death, but I'm wondering: What are your favourite restaurants that you visit again & again. I'm not talking about the "best" restaurants in Vancouver, but more everyday places that you love to visit again and again... casual dining.

A few of mine are:
Au Petite Cafe - lemon grass chicken on flavoured rice, curry beef noodles, banh mi
Phnom Penh - butter beef, chicken wings, phnom penh mixed noodles, beef on rice with egg, & much, much more
Pho Quyen - THE best bun bo hue
Aberdeen Food Court - Leung Kee is great for casual cafe-style chinese food
Bo Laksa King - Great laksa noodles + roti canai
Tropika - nasi goreng, curries
Tandoori King (fraser st) - curries, roti, tandoori chicken
Manzo (alexandra) - robata, sukiyaki hotpot, dobin mushi
Sushi Hatchi - very fresh sashimi's (small restaurant though... long wait for seat on weekends without a reservation)
KK Dollar Hotpot - they have ma lat hotpot here and a large selection of food that you can order. never any wait for a table and service is fair (although they seem to only speak mandarin)
Guu with Garlic - saba grill, salmon carpaccio, kimchi/yaki udon, to name a few
Memphis Blues - elvis platter
Sandbar - I'm not sure how the other food is here, but I always come here for the linguine vongole (clams)
Shady Island (steveston) - their other food is meh, but the seafood chowder is verrry good.
Pho Hong (fraser + 48 location... not kingsway) - regular pho
Benkei - ramen
Jang Mo Jib - pork bone stew
Tony's Beef Noodle - small cold appetizers + taiwanese beef noodle
Baan Wasana (kerrisdale) - pad thai
Go Fish - fish + chips and some kinda wrap... forgot what it's called
Pho Tan - pho is nothing to write home about, but good for dinner: a la carte menu items
Pho Cao Van - bun bo hue

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Please add your favourites!

I'm craving some funky sushi, so here's one of my favorites-

The Eatery
http://www.theeatery.ca/

A definite go-to place for fun and different as well as classic sushi.

The Blue Water Cafe is my absolute favorite place to eat in Vancouver but it's tends to be pricey so we only go once a year.

Also Samba (http://www.thaihouse.com/samba/) for brazilian BBQ is always fun especially if you have a big group... and you must like meat. Lots and lots of meat.

Really those 3. I'm white, so either i cook at home, or go out when I crave sushi or pho.

Matsuyama for sushi - we aren't ballin' and cannot afford sushi hachi and ajisai
I think the place is called "the place" .. in cantonese it's "low day fong" like 'old place' for their xiao loong tong bao (pretty much a large xiao loong bao, with a bit more juice/soup)
Charthouse in Steveston when we feel semi-fancy
Golden Ocean i think it's called... it's the one on second floor behind London Drugs in Kerrisdale (on 41st) - I really like their crispy chicken with fish sauce, it's one of the most moist chicken's I've ever had
Copa Cafe - relative close to home
Alleluia - Pretty good HK cafe, except usually there are line ups.
Cattle cafe/deer garden - when I just want a bowl of customized noodles lol - again line ups

Congee Noodle House for their shredded pork and century egg congee
Kingyo especially for their black cod and kobe beef
Chili Pepper House for gourging
Hy's for steak since Morton's had to close down and Keg steaks are pathetic for nearly the same price
Hai Phong as they have the best overall menu
Peaceful Restaurant for their dan dan noodles, beef roll and pan fried dumplings
New Town Bakery for the apple tarts and bbq pork buns
Tiem Banh Dong for the banh mi and the durian buns when they're fresh
Ichiro for overall menu

Thinking of the places I usually eat... There aren't that many! I've become cheap over the years and that's never a bad thing. These places haven't let me down so far.

Pink Swirl (Formerly Sushi World) @ Number 3 Rd in Richmond - my favorite place for takeout sushi. I drive all the way from Burnaby to go there. The owner, Robert is a funny guy.
Thai Hang @ Hastings St - my main source of Viet foods, fast and consistant
Maxim Bakery Restaurant @ Keefer St - good stuffs, I also love their club sandwich. Anything that kills 3 animals to make 1 sandwich is awesome.
Goldstone Bakery Restaurant - cheap Chinese breakfasts
Congee Noodle King - congee

Sometimes I'll go to one of the Joey's restaurants, the food has always been goood. I don't go that often though.

Once a year I'll go to Shore Club with the lady. I hear it's owned by the Keg guy, but a lot more expensive. The food there is top notch~!

- trieu chow fried rice (it has proper amount of wok hei!)

Tung Hing Bakery
House Special Bahn (You HAVE to try it when the bread comes straight out of the oven).

Hawker's Delight
Nasi Goreng
What's not to like there?

Zipang
Wild Sockey sashimi

Ajijiman (Aberdeen Foodcourt)
Takoyaki

Cafe Medina
Beef Shortrib Fricasse

I'll echo these
Jang Mo Jib - pork bone stew
Ningtu

+1 On the eatery!

Went there during the summer, paid for parking on one of the side streets, only to find free on street parking in front of it

Our food took forever to come, so the server gave us free sides, which filled me up before I even got my food

I worked for Shady Island as a cook for short period of time... I would definitely suggest not going there...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My favourite places that I frequent are

Alleluia - Good portions + Great drinks at fair prices.

Thai Son - Best Pho in Richmond imo.

Matsuyama - Really fair prices and good food. I actually prefer them over Manzo anyday... probably because the waitress at Matsuyama's really hot.

Ninkazu - Best all you can eat in Richmond imo.

Han Ju - Good for a quick meal. Pretty decent pricing as well.

Forgot to add:

Ocean $$$$$$$$$ Japanese Bistro (granville+16) - good food, good alcohol selection
X-Site - this place is so dope for their $5 meals + cheap drink specials (literally $3/beer)
