dash cluster

My dash/cluster where all the guages and stuff has gone wonky. Stealership is claiming 1200 labour and parts to replace it. Does anyone know any reputable shops that will do it for cheaper??

Car - silverado 2500hd diesel

Damnn so I'm SOL to get it done at stealership eh? I posted a thread a while ago about this and never got around to pay 1200 to replace the dash -_- fukk. Stealership told me it cost about 700 for just the part. Not down. Is it possible to get the part from lordco or nappa for cheaper???

$70 for the part off Ebay, $125-$300 to have the odometer re-flashed to your exact mileage, 1 hour worth of work.

Totally plug and play, remove your cluster and plug the new one in. If you want to save a bit of cash, try and find an odometer with mileage close to your truck. I doubt you'll find an odometer for <$300 locally.

Dammmit. I'm in da car right now it has a clicking sound from behind the cluster and the car is off. The service advisor told me that it is draining power from the battery. Damn domestics -_- can this problem be fixed???

Hmm this actually seems like a good idea. If I were to order the parts and bring it to stealership will they still work on it with my parts??

They should, I know someone who had their coil overs installed at a Honda dealership. The only reason why I can imagine they wouldn't is bitterness that you bought the parts from someone else. Apparently there is a place in Tacoma that will re-set your odometer to correct mileage for $80.

Its definitely a pain going to Tacoma. I expect that the dealer would charge $250++ to re-set the odometer though.

This is what I would do..
Buy a cluster off Ebay.
Have the Ebay seller ship it to Tacoma.
Have Tacoma ship it to you.
Buy a Haynes manual.
Install the cluster myself since its basically just unscrewing things and plugging connectors together.
