About fucking time, I say. I used to live in Rio, and the violence was so bad we ended up moving to Canada. Too bad there's only 35 dead so far. And some of those, unfortunately, are civilians. Hope they kill many more drug dealers. Prisons are too full anyway.

@OP: Voce eh Brasileiro? Curiosidade mesmo :p

Another good one:

It will never happen, they are too busy writing speeding tickets, giving out VI's and breathylizers.

I don't expect them to actually fight real crime any time soon.

Let the PPCLI or Vandoo's have free reign for a month. Guarantee Vancouver will never see a drug related crime again.

I can see this happening in East Vancouver, except instead of sending in the army, we'll just send in a bunch of high paid government workers and instead of giving them guns, we'll give them free drugs to hand out. That will show them.

Aww, poor you. Cry some more why don't you?

Law enforcement is multi-faceted, you highschool drop-out.

Oh I'm not crying,I'm just stating the facts. If your face was not burried in books all these years in school, maybe you would have seen what the real world is about(you still can,it's not too late),not what the books and teachers tell you.

However,it's nice to see a poor country like Brazil actually spend the little money they do have fighting real crime that actually makes a difference in the community.

Wanna bet theres a reason why photographers in war torn places end up dead.
I'm not sayin this particular photo wasn't staged but these photographers put themselves in extreme harms way all the time to get that great shot and bring home some realism to whats going on for those that don't see first hand.
They also have great lenses to catch the action from a distance.
