Good Soundtracks I'm looking for 'epic' movie/tv/videogame soundtracks. I can think of many good classics like raiders of the lost ark, jurrasic park and chariots of fire..but i'm looking for something with a lot of suspense and has a nice gradual build up I'll start with 3 that fits the criteria Clint Mansell- Lux Aeterna (Requiem for a Dream) John Murphy- In the House, In a Heartbeat (28 Days Later) Nick Ingman & Terry Devine-King- Mars (Heavy Rain) |
Anything hans zimmer |
One of my favorite sound tracks would be Forest Gump but I know that's not the kind of style you are looking for right now. |

Daft Punk - TRON LEGACY OST. Sooo much good shit on this OST. It came out fairly recently and I haven't heard the whole thing yet. A few that stand out (so far): |

Of course, for epic building swelling movie music, it's hard to beat Richard Strauss: |

I wanna learn to play the piano part. |
Some of my fav. soundtracks are TRON LEGACY, Gone Baby Gone & Blood Diamond. |
thanks..keep 'em coming guys. many of these don't have the nice buildup i was initially looking for but they are all pretty good :) Tron legacy..wow killer ost |
I've got a few I'll share with ya that I believe fit the style you're looking for: This one is EARLY 90's Zimmer, so it's got that vintage HZ sound to it. It's not quite what you're looking for but it's got a lot of swells of dramatic and mellow bits, so it might work... especially if you want to splice parts of it out: Again, not necessarily what you're looking for, but it's close  I'll add more once I can think of 'em. |
