Coolant leak

I got out of my car today and smelt coolant. I looked under my car and noticed coolant leaking from under the transmission + battery area of my car.

I'm going to bring it to the mechanics tomorrow but I don't want them to rip me off, any ideas of what the problem could be and how much to fix it?

I drive a 2000 Honda Prelude base model.

thanks in advance

Thermostat could be stuck closed, causing the coolant to back up and run out the overflow. Pretty sure that is in that area on the h22. GL

couple of common leaks from the trans side i found on these in the past are,
oil leaking from distributor on to the heater hose below, causing hose to swell, weaken and leak.
A "D" shaped o ring that seals a housing by the thermostat gets hard and brittle from age, then leaks

forget about the d shaped oring, i thought this was an early 90's prelude
