| pen tablets for computers
Hi,
I'm looking to get a pen tablet for less than $100. I have been looking at Wacom bamboo because they look pretty solid for a decent price.

One has a pen + touch and the other one is just pen. What can you really do with multitouch anyways?
If anyone has secretly awesome tablets that they'd like to recommend then I'm totally down with that too.
Thanks!

I have the first one. I think the one with touch lets you use your fingers too. I guess if you're using windows, you'll probably have to download a bunch of stuff to enable multitouch.
OSX has multitouch enabled already

My daughter has the one that is one size larger. It's got an 8 x 10 surface and she really likes it. What you use depends hugely on what you're using it for though.

OSX has multitouch enabled already | Windows 7 has multi touch built in.

^Ahh, I'm usually always using a mouse on my desktop so I wouldn't really know. Only way I'd use the multitouch on the tablet would be to make zooming in and out more convenient. Usually always doing CTRL++ to zoom in PS but would rather do a pinch, makes life a bit easier.

I use Alt + Mouse Wheel to zoom in and out on PS, but that would mean I'd have to switch from Tablet to Mouse just to zoom in and out. Same goes with the tablet and pen, you'd have to put the pen down and multi-touch to zoom in and out, then pick the pen back up.
it may sound lazy, but it's these little things that stop me from buying this tablet...
it IS cheap right now though... or was... not sure what the price is anymore.

I was looking into the more expensive ones. Namely, the Intuos series. From what I've been reading, there is a feature called barrel tilting but I'm not sure how pivotal these kind of things are. When would you need such a feature?

I know you're looking for something under 100 bucks, but I have a wacom intuos and I haven't used it in years. I found my tablet-laptop much more useful for drawing with because you can draw right onto the screen. It's so much easier and less fidgety than a tablet.

Looking to buy an Intuos4 Medium and so far the cheapest I've found was at NCIX: http://ncix.com/search/?categoryid=0&q=intuos4
Anybody else know where to get it cheap?

Why would you have to put the pen down? Just hold it between your fingers horizontally so that it isn't touching the pad.
