but we're giving OUR opinions... not like our input would have any affect on the decision.
nor does it mean we all have to stop having opinions because the event is over.
I'm under the impression that Tegra Devil made this thread because of the lead up to the Lou Marsh Award being handed out.
With that in mind, it follows that I believed the point of this thread isn't actually to ask for people's opinion on who SHOULD be picked as the Best Canadian Athlete of 2010, it's to ask who they think WILL be picked.
That is why I picked Votto to begin with. Do I think he's the best Canadian athlete of 2010? No. But that's who I thought will be picked to win the award.
Now that the Best Canadian Athlete of 2010 has been named, to me, it's like people answering "Columbus" today when the question is "Who is going to win the Canucks vs Columbus game?" which happened yesterday.

you guys are only saying Crosby because of that one defining moment. Toews played much better during the entire tournament and he also won a Stanley cup and got the conn smyth trophy in the playoffs.
So id definatley pick Toews. even as a Canuck fan

Reason: spelling fail
Lauren Woolstencroft. 5, that's FIVE gold medals this past Olympics, not to mention countless other medals in previous Olympics and other world events. Sure, Crosby is a a good choice as well, but it's a totally different game (team sport).
Ok, I'm a bit biased, since I work with her.

GSP would beat the shit out of her, Crosby, Toews, and that baseball dude, all at the same time! Therefore GSP > *.
