| Peace Out Larry King
Larry King Live has been on air for longer than I've been alive and to this day averages one million viewers a night, but tonight was the final episode. Kings classic suspenders, unique interview style and presence could never be replaced or repeated, especially in the era of Fox news. For me, watching evening television will never be same...
Larry King, you will be missed. |

I liked his style, he let the interview direct itself instead of reading from a list of predetermined questions.
Definitely more laid back than most interviewers though, so I see what your getting at..

He asks questions about the personal lives as well as public events that make up the stars and lets the stars do the talking, which is why a ton of his interviews made the headlines with "never before heard" information. Typical shit imo
however, if it's not someone i'm interested in, I never tuned in. So I guess i would agree that he's not the type to be interesting ALL THE TIME, only when the guest is fascinating to the viewer

The last show was delightfully awkward. Was it:
The awkwardness of having a satellite party with all your friends?
Regis Philbin singing to himself?
Just Regis in general? Bonus points, because that guy is annoying. Who would have thought that Kathie Lee would be the less annoying of the pair.
Bill Maher(sp?) trying to steal the show
The awkward thing with the guy from SNL
Fuck, take your pick. The only thing I actually found entertaining was Bill Clinton, and thats just because he's a fucking pimp.
I would have enjoyed it better if he did a couple of short interviews with some all time guests, and then at the end said, well thats it, I'm done. Enjoy Piers.

Sad to see him go. Not really a regular watcher but I do enjoy watching when he has guests like Bill Clinton, Bill Maher, Michael Moore, etc...

It was all about the guest he had on that night, but that was just a product of his interview style. Larry King brought nothing to the interview, unlike late night, he made it all about the guests.
Some of the guests King had were never interviewed on other shows, which is one of the things that made it special I think. Stephen Hawking would never go on Conan, but he was on King..

I don't think you can compare Larry King to Conan or Letter/Leno. Larry had old school class that no else had, except maybe Barbera Walters.
