I don't think I ever used the fail button. If I didn't agree with someone's post, I hit the reply button and let them know why instead of hitting the fail button with no explanation.

fail stalkers who were reported lost their privileges immediately. i don't think abuse was the issue here, but rather the negative connotation it gave the forum as a whole.

I never understood why the admins were Fail-Proof. Without the users and the admins there would be no site.
The fail button did help weed the bad from the good. It'd be interesting to find out why the fail button was introduced in the first place.
