Revscene announcement! ***fail button**

Effective immediately members are no longer able to 'fail' anybody. The fail button was removed in order to keep Revscene a more positive place for members to chill and/or be marginally retarded without having other members call them out on it. Now you can be all you can be and not have to worry about others branding you in a negative way! Of course there is fight club should you wish to have an 'E-brawl' with that special someone.

We have kept the Thanks button though because people who are helpful should be recognized for it. Thanks for reading!

Nope. I was never fail proof. Actually, most mods were not fail proof. Only a select 'few' were teflon-coated. :)

Edit: I just noticed your custom sig. LOL...

chun 12-20-2010 09:17 PM

Hahaha trying to make it a more positive place

A lot of the guys we couldn't fail were main sources of the negativity :troll:

Tim Budong 12-20-2010 09:17 PM

fail button shoudl stay in the twanger/NSFW funny/white chicks thread just for measure

LiquidTurbo 12-20-2010 09:18 PM

Hmm. Interesting decision. Might as well remove everyone's fails.

murd0c 12-20-2010 09:18 PM

I found the fail button was good to help people stop from putting up reposts or making stupid posts. I'm really on the fence about this.

Says the guy who's failed 346 times in 129 posts......:D:p;):):haha:

LiquidTurbo 12-20-2010 09:21 PM

So when someone makes an insanely retarded post, such at the dude who was complaining not being able to refund his shoes with no receipt, it's probably worse when people 'fail' them with negative posts like

"You're a retard!" etc.

If people make stupid posts or bump ancient threads or are just plain more retardeder than the general population, they tend to get removed. Reporting posts is your friend! Sometimes stupid people don't know they are stupid until they find that their passwords are changed or they only have access to Seattle buy and sell. ;)

So I can make fun of the powered by hitler VWs without worrying about the 4 of you who like them!

purrrrfect

fliptuner 12-20-2010 09:23 PM

I agree. Good for helping people NOT click stupid links without having to read a bunch of comments.

And the truth is, 90% of fails given were deserved, the other 10% are from people who can't appreciate different opinions.

BTW, Thank button is still not working. I this a temp thing due to the change?

Thanks

That's actually stupid because I'm sure those people were just trying to share something cool or exciting.

The fail button made it so that people who had something to share would be like "Hmmm, I might get failed for this I'd better not post at all" or "I searched everywhere and couldn't find this video so I'll post it up" and it turns out its a repost and everyone jumps on the fail bandwagon.

For those who racked up a huge number of fails are considered legendary.

JDął 12-20-2010 09:33 PM

It also turns threads into flamewars when people take the internet too seriously. Too many threads where a poster that gets failed says "why the fuck did you fail me xxxxxxx, you faggot", then more fails come and the thread is eventually ruined.

Fail button serves no purpose other than to derail threads IMO. Although I do agree with keeping it in the NSFW forum, heh.

MG1 12-20-2010 09:38 PM

OK, then.......... we should have a "Fail" smilie.

Edit: Come to think of it, that wouldn't work. Too many replies with quotes and fail smilie after it. NVM............. time to take some ritalin.
