Base Hockey Labs

Hey guys,

I just received a gift certificate for a fitting session and stick at Base Hockey. I'm super stocked and booked my session for early January.

I think I remember a few people on here that has experience with them in the past.

Anyone care to comment on the process and product?

Depends who's still there right now. I went when they opened so they had their entire staff but it'll probably be Garrett and Cliff doing your fitting. Be sure to bring your current stick, gloves and skates with you.

1. They'll measure the lie and flex of the stick you're using right now and will prep your stick for use in the room with the slow-mo cams.

2. You shoot around in the room with the Sniper's Edge tarps for a while. They have tons of different flexes, curves and lies for you to try out. Once you're comfortable they'll take a few videos.

3. Review the video in the boardroom. Pick what options you want in your stick.

4. A few weeks later when your stick arrives you come back for another little shoot around in their mini rink.

Tip: Bring shorts and a t-shirt to change into because it gets fucking hot in the room you shoot in due to the lights they use. The synthetic ice they have feels nothing like real ice. I almost fell the first time because there was so much friction between your skates and the surface.
