Homeless man with golden radio voice

Thought it deserved it's own thread.

OP here:
http://www.revscene.net/forums/showp...ostcount=16273

Homeless guy holding a sign at an intesection in Ohio gets posted on youtube, doing his thing. Sign reads:

Quote:

"I have a god given gift of voice. I'm an ex-radio announcer who has fallen on hard times. Please! Any help will be greatfully appreciated. Thank you and God bless. Happy holidays,"

He got tons of support and job offers from people on youtube and now the Cleveland Cavs want to hire him and get him a house, an NFL film producer wants to find him to give him a job and he's supposed to be on the Today Show tomorrow.

What a difference a day makes for this guy. I hope he takes advantage of this opportunity and doesn't piss it away.

God Bless.............. works everytime, I tells ya.

Thats an awesome video and a very touching story!

Reading this choked me up a bit..
Quote:

A mere 24 hours after the video went viral, Williams says he's already been offered a bunch of employment opportunities, including one that's a Ohio citizen's dream job. "The Cleveland Cavaliers just offered me a full-time job and a house," Williams revealed. While Williams' sudden and lucky twist of fate could bring any man to tears, he gets most choked up when discussing how an invitation to do the gamut of TV shows in New York has opened the door for him to visit his 92-year-old mother in Brooklyn for the first time in years. "One of my biggest prayers that I sent out was that she would live long enough to see me rebound," Williams said. "There's so many words. I've already been compared to Susan Boyle... I'm just so happy."

Just listening to that radio show and he's getting on-air offers, left, right and centre. Right now I've counted at least a dozen people calling in offering to move him (Hawaii, LA, NY etc.), and give him great job oppotunities.

Cavs offer at 5:00

Quite overwhelming last 24 hours for the guy. I hope he can sort through all the hype, capitalize and still stay in control and appreciate the second chance.

El Bastardo 01-05-2011 11:53 AM

Holy shit. You can't buy that kind of voice. The guy seems really humbled by whats happened, not embittered.

OriginalJC 01-05-2011 11:59 AM

I'm so happy for him that he's getting a second chance. I just really hope he doesn't fall back into that life style tho. So many times you hear stories like this and when they have cash in there pocket they have one drink that turns into a bottle and so on.
