Well I have been lookin to do the 6 speed swap in my 6th gen as well. If your lookin for trannys try here www.car-part.com they have both American and Canadian autowreaking yards. Fyi the last quote I got to do the 6 spd swap was $4500 or $2500 to rebuild the auto that's in my Car!!

Honda rebuilt my 5spd a month ago. Though it was under warranty, I saw the amount they put into it: $3400. Should be a good baseline for estimating a 6spd rebuild.

I went on v6p last night, saw some guys who have some pretty amazing work on there cars, Seems like alot of them have done a 6 speed swap but they do live in america where is it easier to find parts compared to us right?

I should add it's 8k cause it's not only tranny engine as well j32a2 w/ j35a4 heads, j35a4 intake spacer and j35 intake runners.

Yah go big or go home. ..... Financially I'll be going home.

You need the ECU for a 6 speed swap in Accords?

That surprises me, because an AT ECU works just fine in 7g Civics with 5 speed swaps.

That sounds really fair price. Are there any shops in vancouver that you guys know of that can do this?

are you asking about repairing your transmission or the swap?

a couple of months ago, i came to revscene to ask for suggestions on a 5 speed manual swap for my prelude.

people here recommended me to Evolution Auto Performance (which is also a revscene sponsor i believe).

Kevin, who works there, is extremely patient and nice. he had to deal with my very picky requests. he also sourced all the parts for me and consulted with me about if the mileage on the transmission etc is ok to my desires.

the total swap for my prelude was ~3500 bucks. this included switching gauge clusters etc (which are not necassary, but i wanted it anyway). obviously the price will differ for accords. just giving you a heads up ;]

Like he said, but if you buy Richies harness from V6performance then the 6 speed works fine on the j30a1!

yah but it's not much more to get the j32 and the power you can get from it is far better then the j30a1. So in the long run it's slightly better

Nice and convenient that everything comes with that. I would jump on it if I was still in the modding phase.

yes i did.

manual is alot more fun to drive. but sometimes i miss the relaxing automatic...

BoredAtWork 01-07-2011 09:57 PM

Side topic, but maybe a better alternative. Is it possible to swap in a 2007+ 5speed auto onto the same block? I think both newer accords and TL's have revised their trannys, while keeping basically same engine.

This way you can keep the auto, and the resale value. and go from 4 speed auto to 5 speed. Probably need new ecu?
