Help, friend got ripped off. okay here is the deal. my friend bought a civic, and from the ad described it, it was perfect. however it was far from it. Not only was the car the wrong model, ex instead of an si, as stated, but also has a rebuild status that he failed to mention. There is a whole list of problems, but I wont get into that. Is there anyone I can contact to get my friends money back? Also I'm pretty sure the guy who sold it to her also repaired it, But its repaired really badly. Is there a way I can revoke his license? |
fucking periods and commas how do they work? |
your friend is a idiot for not researching the cars life before buying it. Even if she is a girl and she might not know much about cars its not hard to take the VIN and do a little research, she does however have a guy friend also How the FACK are you going to revoke his license lol |
Your friend is a idiot and so are you. lol @ revoke license |
umm...did you even look at the car when u bought it? Buyer beware, your most likely outta luck, next time have it inspected. The only thing that might save you is that the seller didnt mention that it was rebuilt, but unless ur blind, you should read over the transfer tax form where it says if its a rebuild. Your friend made a dumbass decision and now hes gotta pay for it |
If its from a used car dealership, it will be breaking the law for not disclosing the fact it is a rebuild. On that grounds, he/she could get her money back. How or when is another question. If you bring up the terms: lawyer, court, business license revoked, then you may have a chance in scaring the seller. FYI |
I've located the source of the problem. Quote:

Can't blame the guy for hustlin :troll: its your friends fault for being a r-tard. |
thought of anthony before i clicked in this thread LOL |
well she did not tell me she bought a car. she did bring her brother who has just as much as her. And the car is bought from a private seller. Obviously I would be there to see the car if she asked, and yes it is her fault, but is there any possible resolution? The car is unsafe, and the guy can keep continuously rebuilding cars in this condition. |
^ same here lol. But seriously did you not look at the car before you bought it...? Posted via RS Mobile |
Edit: If this was a private sale, read this: Youo must disclose the rebuild status, that is the law in Canada, failure to do so results in a void sale and therefore a refund. If this was a dealership, read this: Opposed to popular belief, you can contact the VSA google search MDCBC and contact them through there, they protect people buying cars from dealerships. If he didn't discoluse the rebuild title on the bill of sale, your friend can get their money back. The dealer will most likely be fined, if another problem occurs he will most likely have his licence taken away.(Dealer licence not drivers) To all the people saying look at the car before you buy it, not everyone is a member on revscene and knows a decent amount about cars or what to look for, that's why there are laws in place to protect them. |
^ private sale, so that doesn't apply. |
^fixed after re-reading thread |
Sounds like your friend just walked in and gave the guy her money, and left with the car, without looking at a SINGLE thing lulz |

Are you sure 'your friend' does not = YOU? :troll: |
If the seller doesnt disclose rebuilt status or marks no accidents above $2000 when you have proof otherwise (icbc history report) the transaction can be voided. This can be done days or even years after the time of the transaction. Im sure ICBC will steer you in the right direction. Or go by a local Honda dealer- Id imagine theyd give you some advice. As per the guy losing his license --LOL Posted via RS Mobile |

yeah I want to take away his license to rebuild cars, not his drivers license. no other car that he touched should be on the road. I know its a lost cause and really hard to prove, and is not worth the time for a car less than 3k. |
Licence to rebuild cars? lol wut. Google search vehicle declaration bc |
^ nvm found on vmsa board |
Don't worry about it from what we say, confront it with the seller? and go from there. Last thing is threaten to take the person to small-claims court. money ! |
