Yet, these guys who make some random noise (cause its considered not music to you, the master of all things sound) make MILLIONS of dollars and win tons of awards, not this artist cause he actually does suck compared to other rappers/hip-hop artists :P. I listen to all types of music and enjoy them all in a different way. Because you do not like it, does not mean its not something everyone else can enjoy.

amount of money you make is irrelevant. look up basshunter. that guy is filthy rich. go listen to one of his songs, your ears will bleed.

You're free to listen to what you wish, but people like Gucci Mane, or whatever his name is.. and guys like him, make nothing worth listening.
But I guess if all you hear is garbage most of the time, you either get used to it or you start to believe that that's all there is.

By the way, you're free to always argue against this, but don't use how much money they make to support your argument.

Just because he makes millions doesn't mean shit.

samething can be said for the asian anime music you listen to...
I've been listening to him since 06 (before hardly being famous), he just makes trap style music.. that's why it 'is' different then mainstream.

amount of money means fans bought merchendise or music or services provided by the artist. Correct me if i'm wrong, but fans do not just buy shit from people they hate.

Therefore Gucci Mane and this basshunter you are talking about, have a niche of fans who like their music. To say you don't like them is your opinion. To say people should not listen to them is you being a tight-assed idiot and telling others what to do.

ajax 01-17-2011 02:02 PM

Is it good music for clubbing/partying/driving? Yes. Is it good music as a whole? No.

I've got his latest cd on my ipod and it sucks. Other than Gucci Time and another all the songs were terrible. I wasn't expecting great quality music when I d/l'd it but music which sounds good and I'll play while I drive. He's just one of those rappers who in 5 years people won't remember.

News flash, nobody gives a shit what you think, nor what anybody else thinks, and now you are just trolling.

I am guessing you are probably early 20's or something and going to University? Every 21 year old going to University thinks they have such amazing tastes, listening to underground indie bands that nobody's ever heard of, and that everything else is garbage.

When you grow up you will realize that it is just wasted calories, and all you're doing is being a pretentious dick. Enjoy what you enjoy, let other people enjoy what they enjoy, in peace.

And if you're not early 20's in University, then that's just sad because you haven't grown out of that phase and you just come off as a smarmy pretentious dick.

lol ur still missing the point. Good music = not for you to decide but for each individual listener. If a listener supports an artist by throwing money his way, they like him and think his music is good. Gucci mane is rich because of this therefore to some people his music is good. Not to you, but to a lot of people.

Therefore money = popularity = good music to some people.

sonick 01-17-2011 02:57 PM

I disagree somewhat. Music people like =/= good music. Just because some people like McDonalds, doesn't mean it's good. Same with Jersey Shore.

Not saying whether Gucci Mane is good music or not, since I am not familiar with rap and what quantifies 'good' rap.

However, arguing whether it's good or not is wasted energy IMHO. People enjoy it, so let them. People can have good taste and listen to "good" music but still enjoy listening to "bad" music. At the same time, people can have bad taste, and listen to the same "bad" music, but THINK it's good.

In the latter case, it doesn't affect you, so why bother pointlessly trying to convince people otherwise, especially since all it does is make people think you're a dick.

Abba, Ace of Base, Run DMC, lupe fiasco , common, etc, there are more, many more.. Jay Z, and so on.

Gucci Mane is if you haven't heard good music.

It's like when youre a child born to a poor family and all you have is a stick and play in the mud with it and have no idea that Nintendo or Play Station exist.

1exotic 01-17-2011 04:33 PM

But that music is boring... especially Jay Z.

Gucci's music goes hard as fuck cuzz.

Are you kidding me? You wax poetic about "good music" and you use Abba and Ace of Base as examples of good music?

i like jayz, common and lupe. i have also heard most of the hip hop albums rated "classics" by the source and xxl. i also like some of gucci mane's songs tho. i dont really compare which is "better" cause its like comparing jersey shore to seinfeld - i like both, but in different ways. your whole theory is messed

ps a lot of the world's poorest know of nintendo's existance, so your analogy sucks dick too
