Spicy Soy Sauce @ Fatty Cow/Chubby Lamb?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if you know what they put in it to make it have that little spicy taste to it? I gather it is some kind of pepper but if you guys know, that would be great!

Also, if you know what kind of soy sauce they use too. I want to replicated it for my hot pots.

Thanks!

Side note!

Any one have a favourite soup base? Something I can buy from T&T or something like that?

+1 to this. So good. I think the OP is referring to just red pepper oil.

Oops double posted.

For soy, they use normal soy, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soy_sauce. You can buy the red soup package at yaohan, price was 4 bucks or so. Chile oil and soy sauce can be found there too. Lastly, I recommend...Bull Head bbq sauce.

It's actually sa cha sauce. Hmm, I have no clue what they put in the soy sauce then. But yeah get the red soup pack above, combined with sa cha = win.

I saw it in yaohan in december, near the hot dim sum section.

They just cut up those long green chilie peppers and put them in the soy sauce.

For that soup base, just take the ingredients they list on the back and make it into the broth you want. I've used the Little Sheep stuff you can buy @ Yaohan and the amount of sodium in that pre-packaged stuff is disgusting.
