Sometimes I wish I was stupider so I would just enjoy all movies without thinking about them and even shit movies are "7/10".

Damn you for being so smart, brain.

Berzerker 08-03-2012 01:39 PM

Does it bother anyone else that they made no reference to Venom? It's kind of what made Bane... Bane.

Berz out.

AzNightmare 08-04-2012 01:29 AM

Finally saw the movie.
:notbad:

I still liked Avengers more. Different style of movie for sure, but I would watch Avengers again. Probably not this one though.

I was actually somewhat confused in various parts of the movie in terms of what was happening.

I just watched BB for the first time. Now I have to rewatch TDK.
I wish I took a friend's advice and watched them just before watching TDKR.

I rewatched BB and TDK immediately after watching TDKR. Both were fucking amazing and TDK is easily the best IMO.

one thing is almost certain for christopher nolan movies
it gets better everytime you watch it...you definitely pick up little things you've missed before or realized the small connections that make them so friggin good.
ie. memento, inception, any of the batman movies

Perhaps I went into this movie expecting too much. Maybe I was hoping to be mind blown like BB and then even more so in TDK. TDK seemed like it was a perfect movie.

But TDKR just seemed... off. I cant put my finger on what wasn't right but it just didn't seem right to me. I've read a bunch of articles since seeing it last nite about why other people didn't like it but most of those were pretty stretched or they were things that weren't as unexplainable as the article suggested. There just seemed to be a lot of little issues with the movie. Some weird filming and cinematography and the camera did some weird things to hide violence or imply things. There seemed to be too much story rushed into the movie too and not enough of it was developed. A lot of the important moment scenes like with Alfred and Bruce parting ways seemed fake.

I also dont understand why Batman simply just walked up to fight Bane at the final fight with the police vs mob too. When does Batman ever just walk up to a guy, square up, and start a fight? I thought his thing was to plan and outsmart his villains.

I did enjoy Bane tho. The way he simply doesn't give a fuck about anyone was terrifying. Completely merciless.

This didn't really feel like a batman movie. Not sure if this was discussed already, but it has been bothering me.

Spoiler!

Soundy 08-08-2012 09:08 AM

One not-so-little "continuity error" that's been bugging me...

Spoiler!

aznb 08-08-2012 02:05 PM

i think they never said she was the ONLY child born in that prison?
they did mention that she was born in the prison and the only person to make the climb..
either bane was born there too or bane had a dark childhood before being imprisoned

KingDeeCee, i couldn't agree with you more. I don't think i have ever seen a batman Gotham city as being in the sun, it's always been in the dark.

DragonChi 08-08-2012 04:21 PM

When compared to the previous Batman movies by Nolan, I would say this is a 6.5/10.
The movie itself was good if not compared to the previous ones. It kept my attention enough throughout to stay entertained.
Spoiler!

There is no next movie.

SkinnyPupp 08-08-2012 10:29 PM

They are going to reboot Batman again in a few years

...by Nolan. Whether someone else picks it up where he left it is anyone's guess, but given the success of these three, you can be the studio is chomping at the bit to keep it rolling. Nolan certainly left lots of threads hanging to make it easy.

LiquidTurbo 08-10-2012 09:27 PM

Yes, when I meant no movie, I meant no more Nolan. Of COURSE there will be Batman movies in the years/decades to come, given how successful Nolan made the series.

G-spec 08-10-2012 09:38 PM

so how anti social am I on a level of 1 to 10 if I actually wished that Bane & crew succeeded in their plan? I wanted Joker in DK to succeed in his attempt to create a little "anarchy" as well...

fckin Bats is cock blocking my vision of some villain coming and sticking it to the world's elite, fuckin their shit up for a change

I thought DK was better btw, too many lame moments in this new one that simply put didn't feel right
