As a long-term owner of fine British automobiles and motorcycles, I can attest to the light-sucking profile of Lucas electrics...always at the worst time and in the worst places...however modern vehicles do not normally experience this suicidal tendancy...specially those from the land of the rising sun...unless some sort of modifications have taken place. In defence of british automobiles ( bumper sticker: all the parts falling off this car are of the finest British manufacture)...I have owned two that had no electrical problems ever. A 1958 Rolls Royce and my JCW MINI Cooper S. Rolls refused to accept any Lucas electrical stuff that didn't work and fined them if the parts failed testing...and my MCS has german electrics. BTW I had the Rolls for over 15 years and never replaced a bulb or a fuse. |

yea rolls royce and a rsx are two different cars like i said anything can happen with weather , i would assume a cop would be like " take it to the mechanic kind of deal or give me a break , i have never got a ticket in my life either so he told me my record was clean , and lets get practical he told me that the reason i needed a VI was cause he ASSUMED that this didn't happen recently like it happened 2 weeks ago or so which i find ridiculous because its a cheap fix and with the money i put in my car thats not something i would cheap out on fixing , all in all im going to get my court date probably a year from now and explain why , |
If all you did was replace the fuse on the side of the road, then you have not find the source of the problem and the new fuse could blow once you drive down the road. I feel the VI was justified. |

All sorts of normal variations in supply voltage and loads can cause variations in current draw; thus automotive fuses are usually pretty highly de-rated so they won't blow under normal conditions - if your lights pull a total of 10A, they may use a 15A or higher fuse. Case in point: my old Accord had 55W low-beams and 60W high-beams... the lows had a 10A fuse for each bulb; highs had a 15A fuse. A 55W bulb, at a nominal 14V, should pull AT MOST 4A; 60W would be about 4.2A. The entire tail light assembly has maybe 31-32W worth of bulbs (for barely 2A draw) on a 15A fuse. If any of those fuses blow, it means something is SERIOUSLY wrong with the wiring. So by this same token, if your rear lights are all out because of a blown fuse, it's a good chance there's a major wiring fault and the fuse is going to pop again before too long... thus, as Bath Tussue notes, the VI is probably justified. |

Cars that automatically parallel park themselves. Warning lights that tell you a car is in your blind spot. I could go on.. |
^ cars that stop if a person runs out on the road, stops for obstacles, etc etc etc. I work for a dealer, and some of these "safety" options have me shaking my head. It doesn't make us better drivers. With the taillight thing, it's really dependant on the cars, than the brand. I've worked with BMW, Ford, Mitsu, Audi and Volvo. 2 Volvo models blow bulbs ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Just the way the car works. Ford, surprisingly little. Mitsu? ALL THE TIME. So just because the car blows rear bulbs, doesn't mean it's a POS (Lancer Evos aren't POS's, are they?) To the person who posted that: Buddy. Get your shit straight. Do your research so you don't sound like a douche. |

Is that a serious question? Because it sounds really stupid and :troll:like |
Well if there's a wiring problem causing the fuses to blow and that's why he got a VI... |
Simply measuring resistance won't tell you anything, especially if it's a newer design that uses a single power feed to each lighting cluster and a low-power trigger or control line to tell the cluster which light(s) to power. Either way, I would imagine they'd test it by turning everything on at once, and failing it if the fuse blows again. |

If you modded the car and the mods you did caused an important fuse like the LIGHTS to blow while driving... you shouldn't be modding cars. As I said before.. a POS that doesn't belong on the road. |
ohhhh it's FUSE...shit. Now I FEEL LIKE A DUMBASS. LOL my bad! |

Run-on sentences are so bloody hard to follow. |
If your car isn't up to Provincial standards, I don't see why anybody here would help you by-pass the system and cheat it. Also, you might want to try typing in sentences. It makes it very difficult to understand what you are saying. A comma does not replace a period, I have a feeling you think that it does... |
