Explosion in Moscow Airport

Quote:
An explosion occurred at Moscow airport Monday with reports saying there were at least 10 dead and dozens injured following the incident.
RIA Novosti news agency reported people were being evacuated from Domodedovo international airport after reports of large amounts of smoke near a baggage carousel.
The Interfax news agency reported that there were at least 10 people killed and 20 others injured, citing medical sources.
The airport is the busiest of Moscow's three commercial airports.

Fox News and BBC's website report 10 dead, CNN reports 2 dead, Al Jazeera "as many as 20" dead. BBC TV just said 30+ dead and over a hundred injured.

Seems like a Chechnyan suicide bomber is the most popular guess

wow

Russia should just really let these guys who want to separate split off... everyone else that put up a fight they let go but they just wont give up chechnya wonder why its so valuable...

RT News up to 31 dead 130 injured 20 of whom are in critical condition (according to Russian Health Ministry)

http://rt.com/news/deadly-blast-moscows-domodedovo/

it was at the International Arrivals Baggage Claim so they suspect either a bomb in luggage or a suicide bomber sounds more likely it'd be luggage but who knows we'll see i guess

The USA is the military arm for the ruling bankers... they command terrorist groups in Iran, setup the Georgia war against Russians some years back, and I bet this latest plot is for Russia supporting of Iran and Medvedev visiting and further recognizing the state of Palestine (as have over 100 countries) just last week .

I think Russia will let Chechnya go when China lets Tibet go.

On that note, I wonder why there have been no terrorist attacks against China

well supposedly there have been some 'acts of violence' by tibetans but China wants to impress the image that everything is a-okay there so you don't exactly get any major coverage and according to Tibetans the acts of violence/terrorism come from China against them rather than the other way around

i dont know if comparing tibet and chechnya is a good comparo though considering all the other places that split off from Russia; china on the other hand hasn't let anyone go (even the "rogue" province of taiwan)

and looking at Chechnya (the pink dot)

you'd think Russia wouldn't give a damn, but i forgot Chechnya is oil rich

did some reading and moscow blamed supporters from the 'east' and 'west' for providing the chechens with $$ material (back during the train bombings)

oh and btw the subway stop that was bombed in Lubyanka is supposedly The stop to arrive at FSB headquarters

interesting read http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article18299.html

Maybe life in Tibet is not as bad as in Chechnya? Or maybe it's not as easy to twist Buddhism into encouraging the people to carry out suicide killings?

Or maybe most Tibetans are enjoying the ride with the rest of China on its economic growth in the past decades.

wow..rip to the victims.

DAMN must be Makarov and his goons. Next thing you know this will be pinned on the Americans, and Ivan will sweep in from the Pacific. Then we'll be fighting for our lives running back and forth from Burger Shack to the gas station. But it's ok because Sgt. Foley never dies and I can just camp ladders on the roof....wait...what?

The situation in Chechnya cannot be compared to Tibet. In Tibet, the Communist gov't has military units stationed there but does not use it to oppress the people overtly (as in a classical military occpuation). And most importantly, the Chinese gov't is making sincere efforts to modernize Tibet by investing huge sums of money into the region to improve economic and educational prospects for the indigenous people there. The material standard of living of most Tibetans is improving (though the price seems to be their culture and thus identity). Do these acts justify the occupation of Tibet? absolutely not but the occupation of Tibet is one of the most "benevolent," if one may use the word, of all other occupations currently underway. Just look at devastation the US has wrecked upon the Iraqis (over a million dead and an addition 3+ million people displaced, a whole society utterly shattered).

The situation in Chechnya is much more dire than that of Tibet.

Medvedev is just a pawn. Putin is running the country still and will run it until he dies. Chechens are funded by the US. Afganistan is also tied into this whole thing. Afganistan's biggest export is opium. I don't think oil has much to do with this whole thing. It's western money keeping these shitty thirld world counties alive.

In almost every instance, it is the intervention (with the intent to exploit) developing countries by Western nations that has caused all the misery in these poor countries.

With few exceptions, all the poor nations that has risen to "middle class" status is in large part because they did not have their internal affairs interfered with by a Western power (i.e. Japan, the Asian Tigers, China, modern Rawanda).

Those countries that have the most Western "support," or more accurately, strangulation are the countries that are inevitably worse off (think Haiti, Mexico, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, etc.).

Most don't know that the CIA funded the Tibetan guerrillas prior to the failed uprising in 1959, and several years following.

It all depends on ones perspective, I agree that the average Tibetan is better off now than if they were continued to be ruled by the elite lamas.

The problem with a theocracy is that the religious leaders all tend to abuse the followers, have yet to see an example otherwise.

There should be a clear separation between the church/temple and the state.
