BAPE bought by HK company

http://www.freshnessmag.com/2011/02/...r-2-8-million/

I.T. spent a cool 2.8 mil US to buy 90% of Bape's parent company......

sourced also here http://ax3battery.com/2011/01/31/i-t...a-bathing-ape/

at the same time, Nigo's been runnin around avoiding Japanese law enforcement for tax evasion so im not surprised. Bape has lost a lot of "hype" over the past 6years anyways.

^ And from what I can surmise from walking in the Bape shop, or seeing what type of people are wearing Bape, Bape is going to be (even) bigger in China, Fob kids are just starting to catch on.

2.8 mil for the BAPE brand or just the HK outlet?

It's not a lot of money considering the brand and prices they charge.

Whole shebang, they bought 90% of the shares of the parent company NOWHERE.

Where's Nigo gonna get his money for his Star Wars collection now LOL.

I liked Bape's simple designed hoodies, but shit went to wack when they started using all these flashy colours and dumb animal prints.

I bought some I.T. stocks today, pretty sure it will go up since all the hongers will start buying Bape like mad again

Never caught on to the whole bape/bro hype. Back in the days it was something like 700hkd for a t-shirt. That's a bit ridiculous.

Bape is no longer big in the west, but because Hong Kong people are obsessed with Japanese fashion and culture, i see this getting even bigger in Hong Kong than it currently is - so good move i guess.
