fuck. my gpa isnt 3.0

BaoTurbo 02-02-2011 07:03 PM

Thats only for other non partnership schools are they? Our scale is 4.33 max and I can't even download to check the application form. It's in some weird format

Razor Ramon HG 02-02-2011 08:20 PM

RFlush can probably chime in with information. That and/or we're talking to the administrator tomorrow anyways. I'm just worried since I didn't do too well in my Chinese/Indian history class that they won't accept me :lol And then there's probably priority for students looking to get a degree in Asian Studies versus something for business, which I'm going for.

On the SCH University site, it says in additional to the application form, you'll also be required to have international medical insurance, two letters of recommendation, an academic transcript with a minimum GPA of 3.0 - 4.0 and a statement of purpose.

would have transfered to langara to go if not for this. kwantlens requirement for exchange is only 2.67 my non studying ass can get 2.67 dunno bout 3.0 though.

RFlush 02-02-2011 10:21 PM

Oh be careful on exhange credits. I mean unless you are planning on graduating from langara, some credits won't transfer from Korea to sfu.

Just found this bit of tidbit, and it seems informational - http://kimchix.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

So far, I'm out of luck.. My GPA is under 3.0, but there's a high chance I can bring it up to par by the end of the semester. Only problem is the deadline is in April.. And then I need a letter of recommendation from a professor. In my mind, that's a little hard since I don't really talk to any of my professors at all, or know any that I'm on a "friendly" basis with. If only they were any two letter of recommendations.. Maybe a previous teacher from high school? Blah.

FN-2199 02-03-2011 07:22 AM

My buddy from UBC is on a similar program and he's leaving this weekend for Korea. Sounds absolutely killer! Get paid to speak English with Koreans, and live there for 6 months!

From what I know you need 3 full courses to be considered a full time student. A fast way to check is to go into your "mylangara" and look at the enrollment verification letter. It will be stated there.

TOS'd 02-03-2011 04:22 PM

What semesters are they offering this program?

Should count, since the requirement for a full-time student is 9 credits.

Razor Ramon HG 02-03-2011 05:01 PM

Depends, some half-semester classes are 1.5

TOS'd 02-03-2011 05:11 PM

Im assuming this program is for 1 semester right? The site doesnt specify (unless i missed it), but the link to the blog where that girl is going for this spring, she says shes staying all the way until december, but is because of the program, or that's just her choice after the program finishes.
