To clear up wat I said above about having to pay the tickets: if ubc doesn't tow ppl then u dunt have to pay ur tickets, the problem is that they tow u on ur 3rd offence so u wud still end up paying for all ur tickets.

This lot has been sold to UBC.
Its pay parking 24/7 now.

yeah the change happened last month..i've seen them checking it friday nights and saturday afternoon even...my classmate got a ticket haha

They started ticketing ppl more often this year (2011) compared to 2010, I would always park in "reserved" lots all the time in 2010 and never gotten ticket while I have gotten 3 tickets in 1 month parking there this year. Times I park there are like from 2-4.

I am at UBC right now. Parked on meters near Irving (in front of Bucahnan?) since 130pm. Let's see if I get a ticket later. Max parking is 4 hours, I paid $0 since it's $3.75 an hour lol.

It's been snowing since 3ish though.

Just wondering where the best spots along/around 4th that you can park for free all day. I'm taking night courses at UBC and work DT during the day. I want to just park my car somewhere near 4th in the morning so I can bus to work from there, then bus to UBC for my class and pick up my car in the late evening. I would basically be parking there from around 7:15am-10pm... LOL I'm sure residents wouldn't be too thrilled to see my car all day in front of their house... If not where would be the best place to park around/along 4th after 5pm?

P.S during my undergrad I use to just buy the bronze package at thunderbird. It was pretty convenient but still a bit pricey. I had a buddy that parked at the Forientek parking lot and only got ticketed once in 2 years...

Forgot about this thread...but there was one day this sem when I was driving to school and I saw some cops + tow trucks on marine towing cars that were parked illegally just after the 2 lanes merge (past where the free parking ends but also where the little barrier is across the street).

Lots of people have been parking like that over the years....this is the first time I've seen/heard of anyone being towed though.

last wednesday, i saw 3 cars get towed consecutively on marine drive. they all parked in the 2 minute zone, and were clearly parked for over 2 mins. busters had a field day

i think UBC uses Drake towing company also because i have seen the patrol dude call tow trucks from Drake at ubc this few weeks. They were mad towing ppl parking at Gage residence.

Yep seems like it's this one Drake truck that is based outta the Health Sciences Parkade/impound office

I should stop parking at Gage, i've been parking there since last month but i move my car by 2pm haha

Been parking at gage for a long time too...got towed on sunday by drake...had to take the 17 to fetch it...guess that means I gotta go lower...
