Drivers for Sony VGN-SZ650N laptop with freshly installed win7 x86

reformatted laptop and upgraded to windows 7 x86 from vista business.

now I'm having trouble finding drivers that actually work.

I went to http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...0N&SelectOS=46 to download all the drivers, but 90% of them didn't work.

here are the major issues that I need to fix with the appropriate softwares/drivers:

i) Before I reformatted, I used a program called battery care function and I set the battery to charge halfway. Now I don't have the program to change this setting anymore, and my battery can only be charged halfway at most.

ii) webcam doesn't work. I can't find the driver for it.

iii) video card driver for the 8400gs is missing and the amount of total shared video memory is below what it should be. This laptop is a little different from others, it can switch between an integrated graphic card and a dedicated one. I have the driver installed for the integrated graphic card, but I can't find the driver for the 8400gs. I tried going to nvidia website to download it directly, but the site told me that the manufacturer requires me to download it off the sony site.

iv) also need a working fingerprint scanner driver

specs of laptop: http://www.superwarehouse.com/Sony_V...N_C/ps/1503551

any help would be appreciated.

I highly doubt software drivers can kill your video card and your lcd monitor.

if you know what chipset drivers you need, try looking at the manufactures site...

on my dell inspiron, it came with vista but i reformatted it, downloaded intel chipset drivers and for my video drivers. for the rest, i used dell drivers, then i used windows updated.. everything works like it did before..

i've run win7 RC1 on my SZ 1st generation fine before and i made it go vista when it came with xp and that worked fine. You just gotta try and play around with drivers and sourcing em from other countries

Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

Is there a known defective issue? Will they provide special warranty?

I have the same laptop and the other week, I was using video card mode (not onboard) and the screen went all wonky. Now every time I try to use video card mode it's at low resolution and lost of funny colour lines & patterns.

The laptop still works fine with onboard video mode.
