Low displacement, high output engines aren't emission standard friendly. Hence, you see the low displacement vehicles are now equipped with turbochargers. Of course, they can continue making low displacement, high output engines for countries without emission standards, but that market is shrinking fast.

I think it's over for Honda.

Hyundai can have two 'compact' coupes with a 1.6Di and a 2.0Di Turbo engine that runs on regular gas and yields very good MPGs, and Honda is given us this recycled shit? It's almost as bad as the new Corolla XRS with the Camry engine! (They went from the high-reving Celica GTS engine to the base Camry engine)..

I really really hope Honda/Acura does some amazing s*it in the next two years. From the company that brought us the DC2R, DC5, 1G TSX, and 3G TL-S, I am very very sad to say that I will never buy a new Honda vehicle :(

No. I'm with you on this, it's uggs

I used to have an 08' coupe, I always thought that was the best looking model year. It was my first new car. Very good, addicting 2 liter vtec roar, 6spd + lsd, tight chassis, good brakes, good balance, well under $30g, I'll always have a soft spot for them :D

No more Corolla/Matrix XRS for the 2011 model year. PLus, Toyota's 2.4L was making 161hp, 40hp less than the expected 2.4L in the new Civic Si.

toyota has went from god-like to trailer trash. fuck them. and i'm a toyota fanboy too.I'm never letting go of my GT-Four RC.

At least honda is realizing that low power Green cars don't sell! The day the NSX comes back, it better still come in manual!

Yeah, they made sports cars once upon a time... went from 3 turbocharged sports cars in their lineup to zip... nada...

that was the first thing that popped up in my head. 7000rpm redline = gross!

although, with Hondata I'm sure you can bump up the rev limiter easily. I wonder if the stock K24 head/valvetrain can handle 8000rpm. otherwise, slap on a good ol' k20 head and rip that sonbitch to 8000+ :)

Mugen EvOlutioN 02-03-2011 07:16 AM

honda engine not rev happy

Toyota of Japan strapped on some sort of FI to just about every one of their cars prior to 1999. supra, soarer, starlet, celica gt-four, aristo, caldina, mr2, sprinter (supercharged), Mark II, and i'm sure there are a lot of others missing. toyota got their balls lobbed off. fuck toyota, fuck cars. i'm getting a jet pack

Most manufacturers seem to be getting into turbos in a big way, bmw, mercedes, vw group, ford. I dunno why honda cant seem to get with it. hopefully the new F1 rules will get them more interested in turbos.

okay so it's not affordable, but people seem to forget IS-F and even the LFA.
None of them do have six-speed manual though.

ya I drove a cpl when I was looking for a car. They are great overall:

comfortable
ergonomic (dash mounted shifter, improved rear seats)
good looking
cheap insurance
regular gas
honda reliable
semi rare

its just the engine/chassis/suspension felt way too lazy and tuned for comfort > character, but like you said, to each his own.
