Canon one-ups Nikon?

This thing looks amazing - at least on paper.

Sweet! I wonder if NIkon is doing something similar. Is Canon a much bigger company than Nikon?

i was reading the same thing, but on canonrumors
this thing looks like a beast! 200-400mm + 1.4x
on a crop that would be 448-896mm!

Probably not anytime soon - they just introduced their 200-400 f4 VR II last year.

Canon and Nikon dominate different markets, but Canon has 5 times more global employees than Nikon (127,000 vs. 26,000)....but Nikon is part of the Mitsubishi group, so one can say that Nikon is kind of bigger.

Nikon is kinda slipping in recent times. With no news in sight for a D700 replacement, or a D3s, or even a D300s replacement, I kinda feel their R&D has been lacking a bit. Canon has been stepping up their game quite a bit.

What market does Nikon dominate? A lot of pros seem to shoot with Nikon but I think thats probably just because they've used them a lot in the 80s and 90s. Nikon P&S's just seem terrible compared to Canons.

kinda boring ...

i still think the 550D is a good buy during the holidays since it has a similar sensor as the other models. should be at a nice price point used now. the next upgrade would definitely be a lens or FF.

This 9pt AF and no micro-adjustment BS has made me look at other brands more and more. oh and no weather sealing. guess i'll keep using the condoms.

Tell me what entry level DSLR has micro-focus adjustments and weather sealing then.

I think the T3i is going to cannibalize 60D sales, as they're so similar now.

none, i was just saying it's not very exciting news (the t3i/t3), for current canon owners anyways

If it's anything like the rest of the x00D line, it's probably pretty small and dainty compared to the x0Ds... I'm not a fan of operating any of those with my bigger hands.

Still wouldn't kick one outta bed for eating crackers
