electronic hood lock questions



Does anyone know about the electronic hood lock,how do they work?also where I can buy?

I'm not sure who sells them anymore.

It's basically a retractable metal line that connects to the hood. When active the line won't budge. It's quite troublesome. I've done mechanical and electronic hood locks back in the days but they're pretty annoying cuz they jam up.

Hood locks tend to be more reliable. Like the ones you see on CF hoods.

I remember Autoloc made them and pretty sure they still do. I installed one made by 'the club' but it was absolute junk. Like Cman said, they do jam and when they do its a huge pain in the testicles.

If its a Honda, run the hood release cable in the engine bay. Other cars are super easy at the latch by reaching underneath. A simple pipe or metal bar covering the cable or latch can really help protect the hood. Relocating the hood release handle on the inside of the car is also an option.

All of these can be done at most reputable car audio shops.
